Story
We have a lovely family friend of a child that is going through the process to become an approved foster parent so that she can continue to care for a youth in foster care. She is a single parent, and has been caring for this child since January with no outside support. This caregiver needs assistance with purchasing a fire extinguisher and a carbon monoxide detector, as this is a requirement of the home evaluation process. This assistance would be very helpful to the family.
Additionally, this caretaker could use some grocery assistance while she waits on approval. She has two teenagers in the home and they are eating everything all summer. She is also caring for her adult disabled son. A grocery gift card would go a long way to help fill in the gap while she awaits her final approval and can begin receiving some assistance for caring for the youth in foster care. There are nearby Ingles, Walmart, Kroger, Publix and Food Lion stores.
