Story
This 12-year-old boy entered foster care on 7/1/25, and there have been very few placement options for him due to his age. He has been in emergency placement for the last week, and we found placement for him yesterday, but the foster parents both work during the day and need childcare for him. Most summer programs for older children are on a waitlist because school has been out for several weeks. Luckily, one of the Boys and Girls Club units were able to accept him and he was very excited to start today.
The weekly fee for this child to attend Boys and Girls Club is $35. He will be attending the last 4 weeks of the summer program, so he will need $140 total for the weekly fees, and $10 for the membership fee. His foster parents are in a tight spot financially, and they won't receive their maintenance payment for another month to help them with these costs. Boys and Girls Club is giving us more time to figure this out because of the circumstances. Any help with this will be appreciated!
