Please help a young mother who is recently homeless and now living in a motel with her three children, all under age 3.

The family was reported to Human Services because they continually missed medical appointments, and now we are trying to help improve their situation by meeting basic and urgent needs. The mother has no transportation, no food for the children, no storage for her belongings, and no way to wash clothes. The family is awaiting placement in a shelter (they have pending applications at 3 shelters). To stay in the hotel a few more days, the mother needs $90 per night.

Her youngest child is an 8-month old who was born premature; the child has significant weight loss and a developmental delay related to lack of nutrition. the child needs Similac Neosure Formula (yellow can) to be able to eat, a Pack and Play for safe sleep, and a stroller so the mother can take them to medical appointments and find other resources.

Additionally, this family could greatly benefit from food for the children, hotel vouchers, and long-term housing.

Maternal Grandmother is in need of a twin sized bunkbed frame and mattresses for her two grandchildren children. The family has been temporarily staying with maternal grandmother while mother continues to try to find her own place to live with the children but has not been successful. Mother lost her job a few months ago due to cutbacks and has struggled to find new work while addressing the needs of her children; including securing housing. Although, mother is having that challenge, mother is meeting the case plan goals/court orders. Furthermore, mother is committed to ensuring the children’s needs are met and maintained. The main reason I am requesting this need to be fulfilled is because mother informed the Department the bed used by the family was recently broken and no longer usable. The children were previously sharing a daybed. Mother shared that a bunk bed would be the best option so each child may have their own bed. Currently the family is using a blow up mattress which is not suitable for sleeping long term. This need is critical to ensuring that the children have somewhere secure to sleep of their own as that would be the safest sleeping arrangement for the children. This need is being requested through Care Portal because unfortunately DCFS does not currently have this item and if requested, the timeframe DCFS takes would be too long as some requests take up to 8 – 10 weeks. The estimated cost of the need/s being requested is $750.00.

I am writing on behalf of a courageous young mother who is over 30 weeks pregnant and in need of support. This teenage mom has is seeking assistance as she prepares to welcome her baby into the world. One of her most pressing needs at this time is a safe infant car seat.

Her journey has not been easy. When she first found out she was pregnant, she faced tremendous pressure from those around her not to continue with the pregnancy. At one point, she was even sleeping in her car. Despite everything, she chose to preserve the life of her unborn child—a decision that speaks volumes about her strength, resilience, and commitment as a mother.

Today, she and her own mother have reconciled and are working together to prepare for the baby's arrival. This young mom has overcome significant emotional and physical challenges, and she is doing everything in her power to create a safe and loving environment for her baby. Our clinic works with low-income, oftentimes uninsured, mothers in our local community helping equip them with local resources, care, and practical support for their motherhood journeys.

We are in need of rent assistance for a mom and two children, 14year old girl and 11 year old boy. Mom is in a very difficult financial situation; working full time but after being displaced due to Hurricane Milton, they have been living in a hotel. Once her hotel space is secured for 1 week, she can begin to focus on a new place for her family. Providing this need will help bring stability for the children. Thank you for sharing hope!

This young single mom (CP) of a 2 yr old moved into her first apartment in April through an income-based apartment and has a job at the mall. She's run into some really rough times and is struggling to make ends meet as her job has reduced her hours significantly and her car is not working. She is sleeping on an air mattress that goes flat every night. We are hoping to connect her with someone willing to provide a new or gently used mattress to get her off the floor. She lives in Boulder and has no transportation, so we are hoping the donor would be willing to bring to her directly. She also needs a microwave and this would help her with food preparation for her and her son.

Mother age 27 would like support to obtain groceries for herself and her three children ages 10, 8, and 5 years old. Mother is pregnant and living in her car while she finds stable housing. A single mom has secured housing mid July. She has 3 young children. She currently is employed and is attending a Bible study regularly. She has mentors set up to walk with her moving forward. She has saved and is 400 short on initial move in expenses.

A Karen family that has been recently able to move into a house now has the fun of doing the yard work. They really could use a lawn mower to help them. if you have a new or a used one that runs well, please consider donating it to them.

Two youths who aged out are in need of storage space as they're in temporary housing with an old foster parent, a queen bed, and an air conditioner.

A family that received a crib for a kinship placement could use a kitchen table, chairs, and a couch. This will help the family with ongoing needs.
