A local woman and her partner are facing an unimaginable ordeal after their beloved English Tudor home in Altadena, a house they lovingly maintained and upgraded for 20 years, was tragically lost to fire. This home, which was about to celebrate its 100th anniversary, was not just their residence but also the heart of her successful charcuterie, luxury picnic, and tablescape design business. The fire, however, consumed her entire inventory, bringing her side business to a complete halt for the past six months. Despite having a day job, the loss of her business income has created a significant financial strain that her primary employment cannot compensate for. The immense stress has even exacerbated her lupus, causing a full flare for months due to constant worry about their finances. Their home at was a total loss due to fire. Furthermore, the loss of her business inventory represents a significant blow to their income and her ability to contribute financially. Providing this support will not only alleviate their immediate financial strain but also offer her the opportunity to restart her business, regain her financial independence, and alleviate the stress that is impacting her health.

This elderly grandfather is deeply devoted to his grandson, who has intellectual disabilities. The grandson has a pending application for benefits, but it may take some time for them to kick in. He requires significant daily support, which can be challenging for his grandfather to manage alone. Despite these difficulties, this grandfather remains committed to providing his grandson with a good life, and the two rely on each other for survival. They are currently in need of assistance to help cover the costs of food and some utility bills. Any support during this difficult time is deeply appreciated, as they continue to thrive together.

There is a kiddo in the hospital who is autistic receiving critical medical treatment at Wesley. Family does not have a lot of financial support, and they are hoping to be able to stay in Wichita for a few days so that they are able to be with kiddo while he is in the hospital. They are lacking additional money to be able to afford food while in Wichita as they do not live there and their home is not there. Hoping to be able to help them with a little food while they are there. As of now it seems as though kiddo may be there until early to middle of next week. Family has done a lot of work and has worked with all of their supports and services to do the best that they can.

Please consider helping this single mother and her child if a secondhand, full-sized fridge is available to you! This small family has been struggling due to not having transportation and only having a dorm sized or mini refrigerator. During this heat wave it can be quite exhausting to go back and forth to the store to get more ingredients. While DCF is providing bus passes and other needs for this family, as well as the mother having other supports from the local/state government, any other supports for this local family are more than welcome in the near future! Secondhand items are most welcome!

Candlewood Suits Wichita East by IHG is the hotel that we had looked up and appears to be around $71 a night. We used this hotel and this price to determine the today amount that may be needed. But in no way does it have to be this hotel.

Grace Bible has been connected with a family currently in the adoption process who is in need of assistance. The caregiver has taken placement of his brother’s two children, and the family is moving towards adoption. They have requested assistance with a portion of their electric bill this month. The family has paid a portion of the bill, but has requested assistance with covering the remaining portion.

A single mom has secured housing mid July. She has 3 young children. She currently is employed and is attending a Bible study regularly. She has mentors set up to walk with her moving forward. She has saved and is 400 short on initial move in expenses.

A Karen family that has been recently able to move into a house now has the fun of doing the yard work. They really could use a lawn mower to help them. if you have a new or a used one that runs well, please consider donating it to them.

Two youths who aged out are in need of storage space as they're in temporary housing with an old foster parent, a queen bed, and an air conditioner.

A family that received a crib for a kinship placement could use a kitchen table, chairs, and a couch. This will help the family with ongoing needs.
