Story
This family is adopted parents of two teenage children. One of their adopted children is currently placed out of the home at a Residential Facility due to behavior needs and will be placed out of the home for approximately a year. This family adopted this teenage boy at the age of 5 and he is now 14.Their child is in a placement facility three hours away and this requires the family to drive back and forth to and from the facility to visit with their kid and for appointments as necessary. For this reason, we are requesting $100 in gas cards just to get the family started. This family was receiving an adoption subsidy, but this was taken from them to use for the payments of residential treatment. The teenage boy is also requesting items from the family such as a sweatshirt (XXL), sweatpants (XL) as he says it is cold in the classrooms when they are in school. The child has also requested things to keep him busy such as a deck of cards and the Rubik's cube phantom (this rubiks cube is black and changes colors when you touch it).The child is also allowed to use his radio to listen to music to occupy his time and has been borrowing a USBC charger from his roommates. The family is also in charge of making sure the child has all hygiene products. The teenager is requesting Old Spice body spray, deodorant and body wash. This family has been working very diligently with the CSB, DSS, Schools, Court System, and facilities to get their son the help that they need.
