We have a young mother and infant child who are without housing. She has secured housing starting August 1, but need to secure housing in between. They have found a hotel for $120/night and will need assistance starting July 14. Any help to bridge the gap this month is appreciated.

The family have been through a nightmare with the issues. There was a serious situation which caused the family to have to be chaperoned at all times by several other people who were not living in the home naturally. Since this resolution, and no fault of the family, they incurred and are now receiving many additional expenses which they have paid most of. There were costs for one of the parents to be in a hotel, in additional to 2 other adults in their home for over 5 weeks costing more in the way of supplies, utilities and daily living needs as the parents could not transport or be alone with the kids. All the support people are gone, and they have exhausted the savings for this issue, they need help with the final $350.00 for the water bill (of which we have a copy) and then they will get back on track and can get things closed out with Children's Division. They are appreciating in advance of any help they can get.

Mom is graduating the year-long Jill's Place Recovery program on July 17th and is working towards reunification with her 5 yr old daughter. Mom is moving into a family housing unit in Naples on the 18th and is hoping to have the home setup by the 22nd when her daughter will be coming back to live with her. Meeting this need will help Mom have a peace that the home is ready for reunification and that the child will feel safe, comfortable, and loved when she returns.

Thanks to a generous donation from the University of Florida, we now have 80 twin bed frames ready to bless families in need across Marion County! We’re launching a MATTRESS & BEDDING DRIVE to make sure each child receives not just a bed frame, but a complete set for a safe and comfortable night’s sleep. So far, 42 families have already expressed the need. Many of these children are currently sleeping on couches, air mattresses, or even the floor. Let’s give children a bed where they can lie down and sleep in peace. In some cases, providing a bed is the final step needed for a child to return home to their family. This simple gift can open the door to reunification and healing. To meet this immediate need, we’re aiming to raise $5,000 to cover mattresses and bedding for the first 42 children. We’re starting with these 42—knowing more requests will come in.

Grandparents are currently taking care of their grandson who is going to turn 3 years old in August. Both of his parents are currently incarcerated. They are living in an RV, yesterday the electricity went out in the RV. They are also behind on rent. (we are working on getting landlord information and more details and will add as a need later). The grandson currently does not have any diapers and the grandma is using her own depends for him. He wears a size 10 kids size shoes, 4T clothes, size 7 diapers. 3-4 T pull-ups.

The family does not have a working phone. They are open to things being dropped off at their address. Transportation is CART at this time due to lack of gas money and needing to use funds for other things.

The biggest concern is that the family is currently without electricity and no food storage because of this. We are going to find out the reason they do not have electricity and will request assistance for these things once we know more, but we wanted to at least get the request out for the physical items for the child listed above ASAP. UPDATE: Power has been reinstated. Family needs help catching up on their rent. They own 600 for last month and 600 for this month. Churches will need to pay landlord directly and information will be given to churches upon their claim for the need.

One of our favorite Wooddale Staff is needing to move to California for family reasons and needs our Helping Hands at her home, preferably the week of July 21 and all work completed by July 27. The following needs to be addressed are listed:

1.) there is a decent sized hole in the drywall that needs filling (from my mom’s oxygen tank)

2.) help with weeding planter beds and trimming shrubs

There is an individual within the church that coaches underprivileged children that is in need of athletic gear / shoes / cleats for a few of the children in order for them to remain active in sports this summer and throughout the upcoming school year.. mainly he is in need of basketball shoes any sizes and size 12.5 men's cleats and tennis/ basketball shoes. If u have any kids or adult shoes for males new or used in good condition that u would like to donate please please reach out these kids are desperately needing these to continue with the well-being of their athletic abilities not to mention being active in sports helps with the mental well being of our children in today's society
