I am requesting assistance on behalf of a single mother experiencing homelessness. She is working hard to care for her children during this challenging time. I am reaching out to kindly request assistance with a 60-day bus pass, as reliable transportation is essential for attending appointments, accessing community resources, and taking the children to and from summer camp. Additionally, this mom and children are in need of basic personal hygiene items to help maintain dignity and health. Family of 6, with 4 kids in the household and they are requesting 2 fans to help keep them cool this summer. It is expected to get very hot in the next coming weeks and if this is fulfilled it would greatly improve the families/children's well being.

Daughter is in a foster home in foster care. Mom and daughter were supposed to have a visit today, 7/14/25, to celebrate the daughter turning 8 years old yesterday. The mom suffered an unexpected tooth injury and had to cancel the visit due to pain and seeking medical help. Mom had saved $40 for her daughters birthday but had to spend that $40 on the medical help and/or pain medication. Mom and daughter are having a make-up visit tomorrow, 7/15/25, at a park. We are asking for gifts for the daughter- she is into drawing and arts and crafts. She would like an art set, a sketchbook and an age-appropriate craft. We are also asking for cupcakes and candles. It will just be the two of them, so just a few cupcakes or small birthday cake with paper goods would be sufficient. Thank you for helping make this little girls birthday, extra special.

This family is in need of cleaning services to help get a handle on getting the home cleaned and helping with laundry and getting it put away. Parents for the children are receiving services for substance use and are not able to care for the children in a safe manner. Grandma has stepped in and is taking care of them.

There are 4 kids in this home, 3 are siblings and 1 is a cousin. Grandma is taking care of all 4 of them at this time. They have recently moved into this home and have fallen behind on keeping it clean and uncluttered. Grandma is very overwhelmed with all 4. Ages are from 6 months to 7 years old. CD has helped with some laundry and getting laundry soap and getting a few loads washed and dried. Case management has reached out to Hot Mess Moms, but they are not currently taking applications. Community Action of Greater Kansas City has also been contacted. Grandma has recently stopped working in order to care for her grandkids. Daycare is being looked at with help from CD. This family is very kind and accepting of help.

Child has a toddler mattress, but is in need of a toddler bedframe.

A family of 5 is in need of a bed for their oldest son. He is in high school and is need of a full-sized bed. The family has suffered a few set backs and are working hard to get back on their feet. Having a bed will greatly improve the quality of life for this teenage boy. Please consider helping with this need.

One of our favorite Wooddale Staff is needing to move to California for family reasons and needs our Helping Hands at her home, preferably the week of July 21 and all work completed by July 27. The following needs to be addressed are listed:

1.) there is a decent sized hole in the drywall that needs filling (from my mom’s oxygen tank)

2.) help with weeding planter beds and trimming shrubs

There is an individual within the church that coaches underprivileged children that is in need of athletic gear / shoes / cleats for a few of the children in order for them to remain active in sports this summer and throughout the upcoming school year.. mainly he is in need of basketball shoes any sizes and size 12.5 men's cleats and tennis/ basketball shoes. If u have any kids or adult shoes for males new or used in good condition that u would like to donate please please reach out these kids are desperately needing these to continue with the well-being of their athletic abilities not to mention being active in sports helps with the mental well being of our children in today's society
