Story
We have a remarkable young lady in foster care who recently celebrated her 18th birthday. She is the youngest of 10 and has a twin sister. Having spent most of her life in foster care, she has faced numerous challenges and trauma, including failed adoption attempts. Despite our efforts to connect her and her sister with family for adoption, these attempts have not been successful. To make her birthday special and to create memorable experiences as she transitions into adulthood, we are eager to support her passion for basketball. We reached out to Lynette Woodard, the first female Harlem Globetrotter, and her team responded enthusiastically. This connection is particularly exciting as Lynette is a celebrated figure in the sport! She has begun communicating with Lynette and considers her a mentor. We would like to further facilitate this relationship by arranging for Lynette to come and provide one-on-one basketball training sessions. We are seeking assistance in funding this opportunity and would like to know if you would be willing to help cover the cost of two hours of training, which is priced at $250 for each hour. We would love to partner with CarePortal and a local church to make this dream a reality. Would you be interested in contributing to this unforgettable experience for her? Your support could significantly impact her life and basketball aspirations. So much of her life has been a disappointment would you like to help make this part of her life a joyous memory ?
