Little boy came into state custody due to extreme drug exposure and parental neglect. The relative took in the child and is making upgrades to her home to meet licensing requirements. The family is in need of 4 up/down window locks (1 pack) so the windows can be secured.

The agency is requesting assistance for a 4-year-old child to attend dance classes as a form of extracurricular and socialization. The child is reunified with her mother and baby brother. The mother is working full time and mourning the loss of her youngest son. The family is lower income and would greatly benefit from assistance. The mother has concerns that the children are isolated due to her scheduling conflicts and would like the child to engage in an extracurricular.

The mother sent over the invoice for the dance classes – which is an invoice for six months' worth of lessons at $75.00 per month plus the additional $55 enrollment fee with a total cost of $505.00 for the 6 months of lessons.

Hardworking single mother who has been unable to work in the last several weeks of her pregnancy needs urgent help with rent assistance. She has 4 young children at home already and was just induced early on an emergency basis and delivered her 5th child. Her rent is late for July and she has been working diligently to find funding available to help her in Wake County, but keeps being met with the response that there is no funding or she is currently ineligible. She received a portion of her rent through a CarePortal donation and has been trying to find other resources to cover the rest and has been unable. She needs to pay her rent by the 25th of this month or she is risking eviction. The amount listed here includes the late fees that have already accrued. We know this is a very large ask but we are praying for a miracle and help so this family does not lose housing while she is in her first several weeks postpartum. Any amount towards the total cost will help this family.

Grace's Table is supporting a teen mom who is determined accomplish her goals. The mom consistently attends programming with her infant child and invests in her peers. At just 19-years-old, she works full-time and attends a local college to prepare for a career in the medical field. Recently, her car broke down and the repair expense is significant ($1,992). She's saved money for emergencies, so she is able to pay for a significant portion of the repair. We invite you to invest in her future as she works doggedly to get ahead despite very little support from anyone outside of Grace's Table. Your support allows her to continue getting to work and school in addition to getting her child to daycare and appointments. This mother and her children, 9 year old daughter and just turned 18 year old daughter, have been associated with WRPC for many years. She is leaving an unsafe situation due to the father's substance abuse and needs help to cover legal fees. Mom has obtained a restraining order and is working with the Branch House Family Justice Center. She has been advised by social services that Legal Aid is not the way to go because there is a waiting list and with a child involved it is more difficult for anyone to pick up the case. Any amount will help!

A single mother, recently reunified with her two young children, is in need of a new (to her) dryer. At this time, the mother is unable to keep up with the laundry due to not being able to dry it timely for her children. The mother is adjusting to being a sole provider and has identified the need for assistance in a new or used electric dryer.

Single working mom with 3 kids ages 14, 10 and 3 1/2 years old is in desperate need of temporary assistance to prevent eviction. She has previously experienced homelessness with her three minor children and is fearful of this happening again just as she was able to begin to feel secure in her new place over the past 6 months. Through no fault of her own, there was a break in pay the first week in July causing her to fall behind. The leasing company is very strict and threatening to begin eviction process, even though she has said she will have the money by the last week of this month, they want it now! A previous mom we helped some time ago has stated the bed we gave is now worn. A photo was provided to show that. She would appreciate a twin bed for her son (mattress and box springs and rails, or platform frame) and a comforter. This will help her son to get the sleep he needs to be healthy and feel secure.
