I am currently working with a single mother with a child who is turning 1 soon. She has struggled with addiction, having grown up seeing the same with her parents. She has worked diligently to get into drug treatment, kick her addiction and continues to work toward her ongoing sobriety. She has no support from the biological father or her family. With DCF and DCCCA, she would be on her own. She is increasing her community through the services being provided and although it has been a struggle, she is starting to see success. She will graduate from treatment on 12/7/21 and is planning to go to a program for women and children. She has no home to return to if she wants to stay clean. She plans to participate in intensive outpatient treatment to maintain her sobriety while working on goals for housing and employment. In the meantime, she will need phone service to stay in contact with DCF, DCCCA, and her programs and supports. Her plan is $60/month. This allows her unlimited talk, text and data so that she can participate in groups via Zoom. Any donations would be appreciated to help her maintain this vital connection as we continue to work with her.
