I am requesting a giftcard to Walmart in the amount of $400 to support a family who is experiencing extreme financial challenges. The family consists of 3 children. Both parents lost their income and are in the process of searching for work. The family is struggling to make ends meet and a giftcard would allow them ability to purchase food and other necessities to meet some of their basic needs during this process.

A mother of four, is at imminent risk of losing her housing due to a delinquent water utility account. A lease violation notice was issued on March 2, 2025, advising the tenant of the need to resolve the outstanding balance and restore water service. Per the terms outlined in the lease violation, if water service is not paid and fully restored by June 1, 2025, eviction proceedings will be initiated. The tenant has sought financial assistance through local organizations and was informed that a pledge would be made on her behalf. However, as of the current date, no pledge or payment has been applied to the account. • Amount pass due: $342.77 • May bill (due May 21, 2025): $114.47 • Total amount currently due: $457.24 Immediate intervention is necessary to prevent displacement and further hardship for this family. I am currently working with a family in need of emergency assistance. The mother, and her children (M/12, F/9,F/3) are currently staying in a parked RV. The family has access to a bathroom, shower, and electricity, and the mother has been able to prepare family meals in the RV. Housing referrals have been submitted and the mother is working with community partners to locate permanent housing for the family. At this time, the mother is struggling financially to secure tangible goods for the children. The mother expressed one child missing school due to her not having the funds to wash clothes that day. The children have a very limited clothing supply which requires the mother to wash clothes multiple times per week to ensure there are clean clothes for the children to wear to school. We are seeking support with securing clothing and hygiene products for the children at this time. Some of the family’s needs include: soap/body wash, shampoo, deodorant, lotion, laundry detergent, toothpaste, and face and body towels. A single mother of two recently secured an apartment for herself and her children. Fortunately, she has received support from members of the community to help with basic necessities while she works to establish stable employment. However, she has been unable to obtain beds and a couch for the apartment. Currently, the family is sleeping on air mattresses, which are uncomfortable and sometimes prevent the teenagers from getting restful sleep. The mother is seeking assistance to furnish her home with 2 twin beds, a queen bed, and couches for her children. Providing these essentials would help transform their apartment into a comfortable and welcoming home, allowing the family to rest peacefully at night.

KINSHIP. This caregiver is a dedicated grandmother and is seeking assistance to help her grandson participate in football this upcoming season. He is eager to join his high school football team, but the caregiver is unable to afford the cost of registration, uniform, and equipment. Caregiver and her husband are the legal guardians of their grandson and want to support his interests, but current financial limitations make it difficult to cover extracurricular expenses. Football offers a valuable opportunity for the grandson to stay active, develop confidence, and be part of a team. Participation in organized sports supports both physical and emotional health and provides a positive outlet outside of school. This assistance will help maintain the stability of his kinship placement by ensuring he can engage in activities that support his well-being without placing additional financial strain on the caregiver. Caregiver’s income comes from retirement, Social Security, and monthly funding for her grandson. However, after covering essential living costs, there are no remaining funds to cover sports-related fees or equipment. Once this immediate need is met, caregiver will continue to carefully manage her fixed income while exploring additional community resources or seasonal programs to support her grandson’s continued involvement. Mother and dad of newborn have been living in their car for 14 months. Baby is now 2 months old. They both work and pay car payments but cannot afford to get established in an apartment or home. Baby is growing and they are in desperate need to have a different living situation for their family. They have been sleeping in a classroom on the floor of our church 3 nights a week, for this past month and the church cannot sustain this arrangement indefinitely. They are very polite, hardworking, clean and cooperative. We have prayed about this and believe a camper would be the best goal for them at this time. They can afford an RV park with utilities and start to get a lead on a permanent residence.

We are seeking urgent support for a family with two children at risk of losing stable housing. The family is currently facing eviction, with a balance of $3,587 due. If the balance is paid before the court date, they will be allowed to remain in their home. The mother is actively working side jobs and may be able to contribute a portion of the amount.

This support request is focused on preserving housing stability for the children, ensuring they are not displaced and can remain in a safe, familiar environment. Assistance toward this housing need would directly prevent trauma and disruption in their lives.

Again, we are out of beds with the other recent arrivals and the funds that were normally given to the refugee resettlement agencies being stopped. For these two families again, we need beds (always) and another coffee table.

Although it may seem unlikely, we are still seeing families arrive through the refugee process. They come with basically nothing and through Glocal, we provide them new and gently used items donated through the community to help them get started in their first home in the Treasure Valley. We have one large Afghan family of 9 that we have in temporary housing and will move into two apartments in the near future. We are short beds and tables for several families. this request is for the larger family that arrived a few weeks ago. To keep things less costly, they will need to put several children in one room and bunk beds will help. they also could use some coffee tables and end tables. Glocal has been able to provide them with their other needs through earlier donations.

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.
