The two oldest children have been involved with the department since early 2019. The children were initially placed together with another relative, but this placement broke down. The children have been with the caregiver since November 2024 and the family is willing to provide long term placement for this sibling group. The caregiver briefly received funding but is no longer receiving any financial assistance. They are expected to start receiving funding soon. This family has had to make a big adjustment including one where one of the caregivers took off a month of work when the children were placed with them to ensure that the needs of the children were met. This caregiver is still not fully working due to the transportation needs of the children. The caregiver has already utilized community resource to assist with getting the children clothing however they are still in need of more clothing.

The younger child wears a 7 top and bottom with a size 12 in children's shoes. The older child is a teenager and wears a XS top and 0 bottom. She wears a 6.5 women's shoe.

When the request is met, the child and teenager will continue to have their basic needs met.

I've got a family of 7, 2 of the children have twin sized mattresses but the other 3 children do not have beds. Both parents work just need a little assistance on getting beds for the children.

A caregiver was recently laid off work for reasons outside of her control. Caregiver has been approved for unemployment but the weekly amounts are barely enough to cover her rent let alone other necessities. The caregiver is diligently trying to find other employment but has is getting behind on her bills. The caregiver has received a shut off notice on her electricity. OhioKAN has worked with AEP to hold the shut off for another few weeks. Once the caregiver has successfully found employment, she can get back on track with her bills but needs short term assistance until this happens. Caregiver has custody of her two grandchildren and with summertime quickly approaching, the children will need access to quality food, water, and lights. Please consider helping this family in their time of need.

Child Protective Services, Connecting Forward and Goodwill Career Solutions are working with a single mother of 5 children who is homeless and residing in a hotel. The mother reached out to ask for help with gas and clothing. She is working hard to become stable again and has applications for housing with multiple programs. The family needs community supports and connections to be successful. The mother is unemployed at this time but does have reliable transportation. She is currently working on gainful employment to help support her family better. She is in need of new clothing for herself for job interviews. She only has a few changes of clothes. She has been so worried about her situation and her children she was afraid to ask for help. Any assistance or support in meeting this need is appreciated!

Male toddler was recently reunited with his father is in urgent need of a toddler bed. There are concerns regarding both safety and healthy sleep habits as he is currently co-sleeping with his father. Unfortunately, the father is experiencing financial hardship and is currently underemployed, making him unable to purchase a toddler bed at this time. A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.

Mother expecting 2nd child on 5/23. This child’s father is not involved, although has support from 1st child FOB. Both unemployed and without finances to put towards listed items. This mother was recently enrolled in our program for her 2nd child, although we did have her 5 years ago when her 1st child was born. Since our initial enrollment, this mother has shown much growth in her recovery and mental health. We have provided other resources in the community, although family has not been successful in obtaining these items. Any assistance available would be beneficial to this family- thank you!
