DHS has been working with a mother in a prevention case to build up her protective capacities so her child could safely return home. Her son has been in an out of home safety plan with his grandmother who has not been very supportive in regards to emotional support and transportation. The safety plan monitor today has informed DHS and the parent, she was no longer going to be able to keep the child in her care and the child is returning to the mother's care tonight. Because the mother has been successful in services, has not had any additional safety issues , and has been successful in the case so far, DHS is able to approve the child returning home. The one thing the mother has struggled with is transportation. She had to wait to get her tax returns to buy a car and she has accomplished that goal for herself. She was waiting for her next paycheck to obtain insurance but now with the child returning home this weekend, she needs to have insurance sooner so she can safely transport her son in her new car. It would help this family tremendously if the start up fees for her insurance can be covered as she was not expecting her son to return home so soon and she will need to get him to daycare so she can continue to work. The insurance is through Cheapest Auto Insurance in OKC and it costs 156. Thank you so much for all you do.

Employed parent had just purchased a vehicle and it was stolen. Parent is now in need of assistance purchasing an electric scooter. Parent only has enough for rent, food, essentials, and bills since parent's savings went to the vehicle that was stolen and still hasn't been located. Providing financial assistance to purchase the electric scoter would make it easier for parent to get from one bus stop to another to her court ordered services weekly, without making parent late to work and having the chance to get fired. With parent complying with case plan, this will move parent's case closer to reunification with children.

The child self harms and was recommended by the doctor he use a crib rather than the toddler bed he currently has.

A single mom with an 8yr old son is asking for groceries. She recently lost her husband and is struggling... I asked her what they would like and this is what she said.... Her son loves Mac and cheese. They eat eggs, chicken, spaghetti, snacks (crackers, chips, yogurts), orange juice, milk, no red juices, gatorade, pretty much anything is fine for us. My son wears braces so he can’t have gummy snacks or hard things. Thank you so much!

Family involved is preparing for reunification. The mother is a single mother, with three children. She works very hard, but still experiences financial strain. The mom is currently in the process of moving to a bigger apartment, one where each of her children will have their own rooms. This is a major step and will provide much needed safety and normalcy for the children. In preparation for the move, it is being requested for help in renting a Uhaul. The mother has also reached out to her supports and local resources, and is able to find some help with labor of the move. However, is still seeking assistance in renting the Uhaul. Once, the mother and the two children already returned to her care, it will greatly support the oldest to more successfully return home as well.

Mother is behind on outstanding balance related to her rent. Her landlord states the following, ". I am concerned because tomorrow the amount goes higher, and you currently owe $1657.53 and tomorrow it will be $2530.99. I will not be able to let this go any longer and will have to send your account to our attorney. Please speak with Chelsea and see what you guys can figure out and let me know ASAP please". Mother indicates that each month the balance remains unpaid she incurs an additional late fee expense of $75. Mom works and indicates she can pay $1,000 towards this balance tomorrow, but any amount she receives would be greatly appreciated and directly applied to her outstanding balance immediately as she is concerned about losing her home. I have a reasonably good faith belief this information is true and accurate after reviewing the message that mom shared with me. Mom has voluntarily provided me landlord's contact and address information. Any funds would go to directly to the Landlord or can be submitted to CFSD.
