PLEASE HELP A SINGLE MOM OF 5 CHILDREN. OKDHS has a family of 6 including a mom, 14 year old female, 11 year old female, 10 year old male, 5 year old female, and 3 year old male. The family has come across very hard times and had to throw all items out of their home. OKDHS worker had a resource who was willing to provide beds to the children however it fell through and now they have nothing in the home except a couch and toddler bed. The family is immediate need of a bunk bed, two twin beds, and a queen bed (for mom). The family has been sleeping on old cushions from a couch or just on the floor for the past week. The family is also in need of bedding, mattress covers, pillows, dressers, side tables, and coffee table. The family has one TV and have watched the same movies over and over again so if there are any kid friendly movies anyone wants to donate that would make their day as well. None of these items need to be brand new and used items are just as helpful. Mattresses at Walmart run from about $100 to $200 and the beds are the same depending on the brand or size. Please understand the amount being requested is based on the average cost of each item. OKDHS really appreciates all the help and so does the family. Thank you for what you do.
