We spoke with a boy in 6th grade today who had holes in his shoes and said his mom bought him a new pair but they were too small. He shared that he doesn't want Walmart shoes, because he gets bullied and made fun of. The family is struggling financially, but having a brand new pair of Nike's (size 10.5) would help this student's self worth and self esteem according to several of his teachers. He just requested any color but white because of having to wear them outdoors. The boy has an older brother with severe behavioral issues and we are trying to lessen the burden on the parents and help this boy feel included.
