I am a Social Services Worker III for Tulare County Child Welfare Services. I currently have a relative resource parent (foster parent) on my caseload who relocated from Humboldt County to Los Angeles County and is unable to pass the resource family approval licensing in Los Angeles County due to not having appropriate mattresses for the children. The children in his care consist of a three (3) year old male and a one (1) year old female. Since they relocating to Los Angeles County, the relative resource parent has not received any foster care funding due to not having his home/license approved and is experiencing a financial hardship at this time, thus making it difficult for him to purchase the items needed for the children. Assisting the relative resource parent with appropriate mattresses (crib, twin) would help to ensure the approval of his foster care license, as well as, avoid any placement disruption for the children in his care.
