Hello. I have a kinship caregiver, a maternal aunt, caring for eight year old who was initially placed with the maternal aunt via a safety plan after being removed from her mother and parent substitute. The biological father, who lives out of the area, has stepped up to be the resource for the eight year old and five year old sibling whom he is also the father of. The father was recently awarded temporary custody of both children. The five year old resides with him, while the 8 year old continues to reside with the maternal aunt in an agreed upon plan as to not disrupt her prior to the end of the school year. The family visits together frequently although the father does not have transportation of his own, leaving the burden on the maternal aunt who is financially limited. Distance is approximately an hour and half each way to transport. I am requesting help in the form of a gas card(s) in order to assist the family/ease the burden of transport in order continue to promote positive family time on a consistent basis.
