A single young woman came to our center last summer, alone, pregnant, and trying to make a decision about her baby. After learning about the options, she courageously chose life, and has been parenting her baby girl for the past few months, a whole country away from her family and support system. She has paid her rent and expenses for the past several months out of savings from her job. This mom is in the process of applying for CalWorks as well as anticipating working again once she has childcare figured out, but she will not be able to gather enough money by the time her June rent is due. She needs $700 to pay for the room she rents for herself and her 3 month old. If this need is met, this brave mom will be able to keep herself and her baby safe, while in the meantime exploring long term solutions. This mom would also benefit greatly from connecting with the Body of Christ in loving action.
