The organization is needing help providing a 14-year-old male, placed in DCF custody, with a dental procedure.
The child is needing a root canal re-done and his health insurance will not pay for the procedure.
The procedure will repair the child's damaged tooth and the child will no longer be in pain or have sensitivity issues.
The child does not have a parent that would be able to assist in the cost.
We have a single Grandmother on the road to adoption of her grandson while still caring for her own son with special needs. Grandmother is only working part-time right now due to the needs and schedules of the two children and very little to no support system. With holidays around the corner, the family is in dire need of assistance with bills. We are desperately seeking help for this Grandmother so that they can get through the Holidays and finish the adoption of her grandson without delay. ANY amount to this family will be helpful at this time. We know this is a large need but are believing this family will make it through. If you feel led to help this family in any way, please reach out to us so that we can connect with you. Thank you.

Mother has been hired at Family Dollar which will be a second job for her. Mother is the only source of income for the family and needs a second job to cover her rent. Mother and her children were homeless for approximately 2 years and have finally secured an apartment in Sept 2022.
Mother is sleeping on a futon which is damaged. A foam mattress topper would provide a more comfortable place in which mother can rest. The futon pulls out to a double size mattress.
When the need is met the mother will be able to begin work at Dollar General with proper clothing and shoes. The mother will begin to have a greater quality of sleep.
Mother needs no skid black shoes size 8.5 to 9
Khaki or black slacks size 12
Foam mattress pad for double sized futon.
A single mother with a toddler recently began having car issues and had to put her car in the shop. This mother has worked very hard to get out of a domestically violent relationship. She has done everything that has been asked of her and more in order to get her child back home. She was able to fast track her case because of how hard she worked. She just recently got her daughter back home. Her daughter was sick and could not go to daycare. The mother had to stay home from work to take care of her child. Due to the mother staying home, she was laid off from her job. She is searching for a new job now and doing delivery driving in order to make ends meet. She has reached out for help getting her car out of the shop in order to continue taking care of her child.

This kinship caregiver is caring for her 14-year-old niece and her 6-year-old daughter. The family is currently living in homeless transitional housing but plan to be moved into their new home by Christmas time. They were approved for the new place and are currently working out how to cover the security deposit and first month’s rent with the landlord. The family lost all their furniture and clothing to bed bugs and backed up sewage. They have received some assistance from Charity Newsies, Alicia’s Closet, and Joseph’s Coat but still have some additional clothing, winter apparel, and furniture needs. The family needs 1 full sized bed, 1 twin sized bed, and 1 queen sized bed including all the frames, box spring, mattress, sheets, and blankets. They also need a couch and dinner table with chairs. Assistance with these items would help meet the families’ basic needs and provide a sense of autonomy and comfort after enduring the stress of being homeless. Having a couch and dinner table to spend quality time together especially during meals and while doing homework would mean a lot to this family.

The family is currently living in homeless transitional housing but plan to be moved into their new home by Christmas time. They were approved for the new place and are currently working out how to cover the security deposit and first month’s rent with the landlord. The family’s top priority is to get a refrigerator and a stove. Without these appliances they will not have a way to store or cook food properly. Assistance with obtaining these appliances will give the family the ability to cook meals for themselves and safely preserve food.
I have a high school student who is in need of a graphing calculator. The family can not afford to purchase one and we have looked at several pawn Shops and other platforms to find one for the child. This would help the child with her math and homework which in turn gets her better grades and hope for a college scholarship. It does not have to be new if someone had a used one that works, that would be great.
