A child has been in foster care for numerous years. He has been in many foster homes that have been unable to meet his needs. He has a relative that desires to take him in and make his home a permanent residence for this child. However he needs some help with obtaining a bed for the child. This bed will help reunite this child with family to finally get peace, and stability. The child can sleep comfortably and put his burdens to rest.
The children came to the attention of the department in 2017 due neglect by biological mother and the biological father who at the time was incarcerated. FR services were provided to the father and for some time the father was doing well, had overnight visits, but relapsed leaving the children orphans. The children have been placed with relatives since the time of detention with the case now being in the adoption process. The children are very excited to participate in Wildcats football & cheer for the summer, which the caregivers do not have the funds to pay for. Children would like to participate in the 2023 Wildcats football and Cheer season. The cost of football is $675, and cheer $300, for a total of $925 for both children to participate.

Client is a single, 51 year old caregiver, who is raising three grandkids ages 9, 13, and 14. The children are in need of new shoes, as well as intimate clothing. With the caregivers fixed income, the caregiver finds it difficult to save enough money to buy the children these items. One of the kids has mentioned to their grandmother that kids at school had made comments about the holes in her shoes. When this request is met, the children’s basic needs will have been met, but more importantly they will have a pair of shoes they can feel more comfortable in. The caregiver would benefit from a Walmart gift card for $300.

Foster parents are asking for help with a specialty formula for a three month old baby who is having trouble eating and WIC does not cover that specialty formula in order to help continue baby’s weight gain. So far, after switching to this formula, the baby has consistently gained weight at an appropriate rate, however the problem is that it is tough to find and very expensive. Foster parents have drove around to Oklahoma City, Arkansas, and Locust Grove to secure some since this baby came into care. The baby is placed with adopted sibling and has had issues from birth, but the foster parents have done a great job looking after this baby and making sure the baby’s developmental needs are met. The specialty formula is “Enfamil AR (added rice).” FM asked for reimbursement of $250 and/or cans of formula. Anything would help this foster family care for this baby. Worker put 12 cans, however foster parents will take any help since this baby will be taking this formula for a while.

CASA has been assigned to a case for over a year now and the teen boy was recently placed in a residential facility out of state, as there was nothing available or appropriate for him in Colorado. CASA speaks to the youth on the phone regularly but the youth has expressed interest in the CASA advocate coming to visit the youth. The advocate (a volunteer) is willing to cover his own hotel stay, food and car rental. CASA, as an organization, is asking if a community member would be willing to donate a $200 Visa gift card to help towards the cost of a plane ticket for this advocate. We know that the youth being so far from home and knowing no one is scary and he feels little support. He was originally removed from his home due to neglect and ongoing substance use by a parent.
