J.H. is placed in the home of a relative on the Kansas/Missouri Border Agreement ICPC. The family has been doing their best to provide everything J.H. needs, although due to J.H.'s level of care needed, she has been forced to take time off work. J.H. is in need of a new bed frame and bedding essentials. She could additionally use a dresser.

Household of 8, one parent and 7 children. The kids range from 4 to 12 years old. The family currently only has one full sized bed in their residence and is in need of additional beds for the children as they are sleeping on the couch or on the floor currently. There are seven children so any combination of beds, preferably two bunk beds and a full or queen mattress would ensure that all the kids have an appropriate place to sleep. The family is also in need of bedding (sheets and blankets) for the requested beds and a dining room table if possible. Right now there is very little furniture in the home. All of these items would aid in creating a more functional and appropriate space for the children.

This is a sibling set of 4 girls ages 5-16. Mom has worked had to get an apartment after being homeless for sometime and is working to get her girls back home to her. Mom has just secured an apartment but will need a bunk bed and a dresser for 2 of the girls.

A bio dad that recently found out he had a son, and is going to soon reintegrate the 1 year old home to him. Dad has never had a baby before and needs some basic items to get his son home to him. Dad did not know about his son and was not expecting a baby to come live with him and so soon. So any and all baby items are needed.

An 11 year old girl with extensive trauma history needs a new twin bed and dresser. She currently does not have any dresser at all due to her breaking it. Her current bed is a metal bunk bed which she is scared to sleep in as it only has a top bunk, so is sleeping on the floor. Her current bed is also very wobbly and bent due to the child damaging it during outbursts or fits. Placement is requesting a captains twin bed which has drawers underneath the bed. This is so the child feels safe and knows no one can be under the bed, and so she doesn't hoard food under the bed. Placement requests that both the bed and dresser are wooden and sturdy.

This youth is extremely motivated and has set high goals for herself. She wants to accomplish many things in her life despite the trauma she has been through in such a short span of her life. She is dedicated to her education and has already been accepted into KU in the Pre-Med program. While going to school and working on college courses, she has also been taking welding classes to complete the program and obtain her certification. She wants to be able to support herself with a career while going to college. We are asking for any support that can help us achieve paying this bill for her so that she can continue working on her goals to better herself. This request is being made for strong, loving, single parent who is unfortunately, stuck in the reoccurring cycle that many people are facing with homelessness. However, the obstacle that this mother is facing are some that she cannot control. This mother was diagnosed with a debilitating disease called Scleroderma at the age of 14. Scleroderma involves the hardening and tightening of the skin which causes severe pain. The doctors gave her two years to live, but here she is 20+ years later, killing it. When this mother was at the hospital at the age of 14 finding out that she had this disease, her own mother abandoned here, leaving her at the hospital, and this mother was placed in the custody of the state. She eventually aged out of the system but this disease has left her disabled and has never been able to work. She receives about $700 from SSI and that was all she received to take care of herself and her two sons. She was able to rent a home, but due to her illness, she was admitted into the hospital and was there for months. During that time, she lost the home because she could not pay rent and the landlord took her to court and she was ordered to pay the landlord over $3000 in restitution. When making very limited income and taking care of herself and her two sons, it is nearly impossible for her to save any money. The only reason preventing her 11 year old son from reintegrating home with her is because she doesn't have stable housing.

I work with a family who has been struggling to make ends meet this year. She is a single mother who works in education and is struggling with her car payment and is in danger of losing the car. She owes $630.00 at this time but any portion of that amount would help. Without the car her children could lose access to attending school due to bus issues in our area and driving them is the only option at this time. Any help would help her get closer to getting caught up on this bill.

Young adult still in foster care is close to exiting foster care by emancipation. He has a long-term home and has moved in. However, he only has an old mattress and no bed frame. He has broken his past bed frame as he rocks in his sleep at night, a result from past trauma. Requesting a new mattress and bed frame for this young man as he transitions to the rest of his life so he can have a more comfortable sleeping arrangement in his room and also a rug to go under the bed frame to prevent scratching the floor when he rocks at night during sleep.

Large family consisting of 7 children, is in need of financial resources. Two of the seven children are medically fragile infants (twins) as they were born prematurely. One of the babies has not been home in its nearly year long lifespan, and the other has been hospitalized multiple times. Any contributions will be used to help the family pay for rent and utilities. Needing assistance by the 4th in order to avoid eviction. Thank you so much!

Older youth, age 19, rents her own apartment. Youth's rent is $1500.00. She recently became ill and was hospitalized for a brief period of time causing her to miss several days from work. The youth's rent is due on December 1st. She needs financial assistance for her rent payment. The youth reports to have 50% of the rent payment saved.

Family ( mother, father, and their 3 year old child), need assistance paying for their hotel where they have been staying at since becoming homeless. the family does try and work but father recently lost his job. Family will have no income until the first of November and they need to pay for another night by tomorrow 11/28/2023 or they will be on the street. Family and their workers have explored hotel vouchers, homeless shelters, and any family assistance but so far they have not come up with any. amount below will cover a week, by which time, they will have income on the 1st of December. hotel is the Super 8 by Wyndham Lees Summit.

Mother is on a THV with her 2 year old son She has made lots of progress of the year and has stable housing and is drug free. Her son is growing quickly and unfortunately all the clothes she was given he has out grown, or he just only has 3 pairs of socks for example. I asked Mom send me a list of the clothing she needs for her son. this is the list, 10-15 pairs of 2t socks, 4 pairs of 3t jeans, 4 pairs of 3t sweats, 4 pairs of 3t hoodies, 4-5 shirts sized 3t, a winter coat, snow boots, 2 sweaters 3t, and 2 pairs of tennis shoes size 6. I have went upon myself and research how much each of these things would cost at Walmart. Socks are $19.99 for a 12 pack, Jeans are $15 a pair, sweats and hoodies we can do bundles a matching set for $12.53 for the hoodie and sweats or $20.76 for a three pack of sweats or $11.98 for one hoodie, Shirts $17.92 for a 4 pack, winter coat is $23.98, snow boost size 6 are $28.99, tennis shoes size black neutral pair $16.87 colorful pair $18.44, and sweaters would be $11.64 each. After calculating it all up the total was $279.80. I'm asking for $300 for Mom for any extra taxes or fees and to make sure her son can get everything he needs. I will accompany her on the clothing hall so we make sure we get the right items priced on this form.

On the children's day of referral into foster care, our kinship department worked tirelessly to find relative connections for these four children to help ensure that they would be able to stay together with their siblings. We were able to find an uncle of the children and his significant other that were enthused to take in the children to ensure that the children were able to go to a home that they were familiar with and people that they had connections to. They were able to be approved as the placement for the children and the children have been safe and stable in their uncle's home since coming into care. However, the family has had a difficult time being able to get beds and mattresses for the children to be able to continue to remain in the home and they are in need of two twin sized bed frames and mattresses and a twin sized bunk bed with mattresses as soon as possible to be able to continue to maintain the children in the home. The family would greatly appreciate any assistance in getting these items to be able to continue to remain placement for their nieces and nephew. Struggling family has unexpected bills and has fallen behind on their storage bill. As of Nov 27, 2023 All their belongings will be put up for auction. Family got behind when living situations changed and family had to start paying all of the rent instead of just 600.00$ Family is now needing to move and pay first and last month rent for a bigger place so their family can be re unified. Already struggling they now have to pay a 1200$ deposit / $250 per fee and first month's rent which is $1225. Not to mention they lost their food stamps and any extra money goes to feeding the kids. Unfortunately, if their unit is lost at auction this will put reintegration even further behind due to having to replace all their belonging. Would you please consider pitching in. 17-month old medically complex kiddo needing medical equipment for newly placed g-tube. G-tube will provide adequate nutrition as their medical situations make it difficult to feed them otherwise. Needing gastrostomy tube, extension tubing, and gravity bags per medical provider.

Mom was let go of her job, but was able to find a new one a couple of weeks ago. However she is $300 short on her November rent payment since she was in between checks at the time. She is needing help with this last payment so she can have sustainable housing moving forward.

A 17-year-old girl, eldest of her family, expressed feeling frustrated because her car needs repair. At 17, there are a lot of things she is buying for her senior year that she needs money for (college applications, basketball shoes, fees on her school account, senior pictures, etc) but without a car she is hardly able to work as she has no way to get there. She lives in a single parent household with four siblings and helps mom with running errands and taking kids to and from school. This young woman is a A+ student and is very involved in her community. She said it would be a little over $250 to fix her car but any assistance would help tremendously.

A child has been placed with his grandmother. The child is 2 years old and needs his own bed. The home also needs smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher to be able to meet the needs of an appropriate placement.
