This request is to assist a single mother with transportation to and from evening group and therapy sessions. This biological mother is working with DHS and trying her best to change the conditions which placed her child in custody. This mother is having difficulties with evening transportation due to groups and sessions lasting later in the evening than Tulsa Transit runs. This worker would like to advocate an UBER card for this mother to assist with her transportation needs. Any consideration and assistance with this need will greatly help this mother move closer to completing her requirements with DHS.

We have a youth who is currently in the office without placement. This youth is pre-diabetic and for the past week has not been able to have access to healthy foods. We are in need of some healthy, diabetic friendly snacks and meals that she can enjoy that are also beneficial to her. Her only known food allergy at this time is kiwi. She enjoys shrimp, grilled chicken, salad, tuna salad, carrots, broccoli, and various fruits. She is not a picky eater. We do have access to a microwave, stove, and fridge so perishable items could be an option as well. At this time, she has no placement, so at minimum a few days worth of groceries would benefit her greatly. We appreciate anything that can be offered for our girl so that she can maintain a healthy diet and her pre-diabetes until a placement is found!

DHS is working with a Dad and his little boy who has developmental disability services. Dad has been working very hard and has been able to be reunited with his son in trial reunification. He is caring for him diligently but does not have the gas to take his son to school and his medical appointments this week. In order for Dad to meet his son’s educational and medical needs this week, he is in need of a gas. In fulfilling this request, you would be helping a father meet his son’s needs and keep this family together. Thank you for partnering with DHS in caring for our vulnerable population.

I have a mom who has recently reunified with her three children, all of whom are teenage/preteen. She is currently employed part time receiving about $200 per week. Her husband has lost his job and they could use help paying their rent which is $1200 per month. Additionally, mom has not been able to get the family on SNAP as his income previously made them over income. We are requesting a gift card/groceries to help them until she is able to finish the reapplying process.
A sweet family agreed to take placement of four children that they didn't know. They were sought out because they had fostered in the past and reopened without any financial assistance to provide emergency care. They were not told originally that any of the children had lice. The children arrived at the home, and the family was told two of the children had lice, but they had been treated. They were told there were no lice or eggs found on the other two children. All children had a severe infestation of lice. The family worked for two days to rid the lice with chemical lice treatments. They were told that Lice Clinics of America (LCA) accepts Soonercare. However, this was also incorrect. They discount for Soonercare, but the cost for the treatment is still very expensive. The family took money assigned for other bills to rid the lice at LCA under the impression that DHS would reimburse them. The cost of the lice treatment was $566. The family is in need of this money back for their bills. They owe $407 to PSO, $70.79 to ONG, and $290 to the City of Sand Springs. We are only asking for enough to be paid towards the bills to offset the amount paid for the lice treatment $566. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We are currently working with a mom who has found a stable home for her and her two kids (ages 1 and 5). She was approved for the home, but just needs help with her deposit so she can move in as soon as as possible. Mom just returned home from completing her out-of-state treatment, so does not have the ability to come up with the deposit in the time needed. She is needing assistance with the large deposit of $500. This home means a lot to her. It will allow her to have a stable place to reside while she secures a job that gives her a steady, reliable income and allows for her to maintain the home. She is looking forward to engaging in the rest of her services and is hopeful to being reunified with her children. If you feel that you can assist in any way, even partially, I would be happy to connect you to mom.

A single father has been working very hard to have his children back with him. He has been working full time and successfully completing his services. He visits with them as often as possible and his children want nothing more than to be back with him full time. He has been living out of a hotel up until now which was standing in the way of reunification. He has been able to find an apartment and is needing help with his deposit and first month's rent in order to get set up and work toward getting his children moved back with him.

Hello, we have a teenager who is needing specialized cognitive testing. The cheapest I have found is $200, because insurance will not cover this need. We are asking for this $200, in order for this child to receive the help she needs. This child is soon to age out so, time is of the essence. We are wanting to give her the best foundation we can as she transition into adulthood. Thank you for your time. The donor will call the child's doctor and pay directly to their facility. Worker can share those details at the time of gifting. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this request.

I have a kinship family, foster mom and dad, who has placement of their three godchildren, ages 16, 11, and 6. The foster mother is the only driver in the home. They only have one vehicle. The foster father is actively working on getting his driver's license so he can help with transporting the children. These three children are thriving with these foster parents. They have been through a lot of trauma and are doing quite well. The 16 year old in particular has really grown and thrived. She is making straight A's and has many goals set for herself. The foster mother has the children in excellent schools to meet their needs and needs a way to transport them to and from school as well as get to work herself. On Tuesday, 09/28/2023, the foster mom and two of the children were in a car accident. They are physically fine but the car was seriously damaged. If you happen to have a car you could donate to this family we would be eternally grateful. We thank you in advance and God Bless.

I have a mom who is fixing to be reunited with her children in need of a twin size mattress and a crib mattress. This will alleviate the burden off of the mom and allow her to concentrate on other needs she is trying to meet without having to ask for assistance. Any new or gently used donations would be greatly appreciated.

Family includes a mother, father and their six children, all under the age of 8. Parents are doing great in their treatment services but lack transportation that makes it difficult to attend these services. The bus system takes far too long to be a practical alternative so DHS is asking for uber gift cards to assist the parents in getting to and from their necessary treatment services. Helping this family financially and making it more accessible for them to receive treatment will greatly enhance their ability to reunify with their children in a safe and timely fashion

Mom and dad are doing fantastic in their treatment services and are on the path to reunification and extended, unsupervised family time. However, they are needing assistance in getting beds for the children. They are needing assistance in obtaining two twin size mattresses.
