I have a kinship family, foster mom and dad, who has placement of their three godchildren, ages 16, 11, and 6. The foster mother is the only driver in the home. They only have one vehicle. The foster father is actively working on getting his driver's license so he can help with transporting the children. These three children are thriving with these foster parents. They have been through a lot of trauma and are doing quite well. The 16 year old in particular has really grown and thrived. She is making straight A's and has many goals set for herself. The foster mother has the children in excellent schools to meet their needs and needs a way to transport them to and from school as well as get to work herself. On Tuesday, 09/28/2023, the foster mom and two of the children were in a car accident. They are physically fine but the car was seriously damaged. If you happen to have a car you could donate to this family we would be eternally grateful. We thank you in advance and God Bless.

Mom and baby daughter entered the shelter with very little except hope and a determined attitude. The baby girl is 7 months old and beginning to crawl and pull up. She needs toys to increase her strength and encourage her curiosity; a play mat, push toys, etc. A baby jumper activity center would be helpful but not one that hangs from a doorframe. Baby girl needs some sleepers and clothing, 9mo to 12mo size, diapers & wipes (size 3), formula (Gerber Good Start Gentle with the orange label) and baby bottles. Mom needs some tee shirts (large), bras (34C) and some tennis shoes, size 8 1/2, and personal hygiene items, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, moisturizer, etc. This list is long but any assistance with these needs is very much appreciated.

Family includes a mother, father and their six children, all under the age of 8. Parents are doing great in their treatment services but lack transportation that makes it difficult to attend these services. The bus system takes far too long to be a practical alternative so DHS is asking for uber gift cards to assist the parents in getting to and from their necessary treatment services. Helping this family financially and making it more accessible for them to receive treatment will greatly enhance their ability to reunify with their children in a safe and timely fashion

Mom and dad are doing fantastic in their treatment services and are on the path to reunification and extended, unsupervised family time. A mother is needing assistance with transporting her 2 baby girls to and from school. The family was reunified on 9/26. Mom does not have a vehicle and she cannot afford one at this time. The school the 2 girls are attending is about 20 minutes away from the family's home. Mom stated she knows the school is a distance away from their home, but she wants her baby girls to receive a better education. At this time, mom and the 2 girls utilize public transportation. The family has to ride between 8 and 10 buses daily to get to and from school. This means they have to wake up very early to get a 5:30am bus and they get home about 12 hours later! This makes a very long day for 2 young girls. The family also uses Lyft transportation, when mom is able to afford it, which is not most days because mom is not able to work full time at the moment;. She donates plasma when she can. If anyone could help this family with a Lyft card or bus pass, it would be great appreciated. Thank you for helping our families!

This request is for a single mother with four young children in the age of 8,3-, and 1-year old twins. Natural mother has been engaging in her court ordered plan and maintaining her sobriety for a month now. She is consistently having difficulties with transportation due to the tires on her car. The tires have been so worn out that they need to be replaced immediately. For the time being, she has been getting rides from anyone she can find to attend all her obligations. Where she lives, the public bus requires multiple transfers and hours to get to just one service provider. A donation for three new tires or partial donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Heather:
I have a twin bed I can give, and can get a mattress and bedding for it. Just let me know if this is still needed, and if it’s for a boy or girl.
My foster parents have not started receiving their montly stipened for being foster parents and are needing some assistance. They would appreciate it if they could get a $100 QT gas card to assist with driving their 15 year old foster child to school and back for the next month or so until they get their monthly stipened. Thank you in advance for helping this family.
