Hello! We have a family in need of assistance with rent as soon as possible. They are past due on their rent for January in the amount of $550. The family had their baby earlier than expected, but dad has continued to work and mom returned to work 9 days after having the baby. They are working very hard to adapt to life with a new baby and get caught up on their bills. The family and the case manager has contacted several resources, but none had the funds available to help. If anyone is able to help with the full amount or even a portion of the amount, please reach out.
A single aunt is willing and able to be placement to her 4 year old and 5 month old nieces after her mother gave notice on being placement due to some health issues, however she is short a bed for the 4 year old. She does have 3 of her own children living in the home. In order to make the placement work temporarily, she will be having her 4 year old niece sleep in her 9 year old daughter's bed and her 9 year old will be sleeping in her room. Placement is looking for a twin size bunk bed for the 4 year old and the 9 year old as the 4 year old is tall for her age and may not fit into a toddler size bed and the 9 year old will not fit into a toddler size bed.

Kayla was not sure what she was going to do with her pregnancy when she first came to A&A. She was separated from her husband and had gotten pregnant with another FOB. That FOB promised to help with financial expenses associated with having the baby, but now that she's had the baby, he has been telling her he won’t help anymore financially if she doesn’t agree to his demands.
Kayla parents 4 children and shares custody of the first 3 with their father. She worked 2 jobs while pregnant and was able to figure out how to cover most expenses. She has been struggling with lack of income due to maternity leave, and her current job won’t give her full time hours until March. She has applied for state help but is still awaiting approval for those.
Kayla is requesting help with a past due electric bill ($215) as well as some gift cards to help her and her children. $100 in gas and $100 in grocery.

A young mother with an infant with complex medical issues is needing a mini fridge to store his life sustaining total parenteral nutrition (TPN). Having a separate mini fridge is helpful to ensuring the TPN is kept sterile, which lowers the infant's chances for potentially deadly central line infections. If possible, it would be helpful to have the fridge delivered to the family's home due to this infant currently being admitted to the hospital.

A father had his phone stolen, without a phone he cannot keep in contact with his case manager to work on case plan tasks which will prevent reintegration from happening. A simple phone with a cheap service is all that is necessary.
A family has recently moved into a new home after one of the children's father was killed. The family is still grieving, and losing a source of income has forced the mom to look for other employment. She has a job opportunity that would help but does not have reliable transportation at this time to get to work. She has a bus pass, but not all work sites are on the bus line, so she is requesting an adult bike that she could use to get to and from work. Since they moved, the family is also seeking furniture for their home at this time. They are in need of dressers and a dining room table with chairs. Anything is helpful (however the bike is a priority so the mom can take the new job opportunity and earn more money for her family). I am not sure how much bike/furniture would cost so the amounts below are a rough estimate.

This family has multiple people in the household as they came together to take care of these 5 children who came into care. These 5 children's grandmother, lives with her mother and father and her other daughter who has two kids. We all joined together to make this placement work, so these children did not have to be separated. The grandmother does a lot for these children multiple doctor appointments and taking care of an infant with medical needs. The children are 10,7,4,2 and 4 months old. This family is in desperate need of a dryer if we could find one as their dryer quit working and going to the laundry mat is very expensive. They also need some help with a highchair big enough for the 2-year-old as he does need it. If they could get this help it would benefit the placement and the children.

Single disabled mom. New baby 5 months old. Just received shut off notice for Atmos energy. She needs 366.00 paid to avoid shut off. She is on a fixed budget and is just learning how to care for her daughter. If this bill is paid a lot of stress will be moved from her shoulders. If the helpful church will contact this worker i have a copy of the bill so it may be paid directly to Atmos.
Thank you and be blessed.
Chuck
Our clinic has been assisting a mother whose husband recently left the home due to domestic issues. Due to only having one income now, as well as a daughter with health issues, she has fallen behind on rent and was served an eviction notice. Her total rent due is $1,164.50 but she is putting $485 on it tomorrow. She has applied for a rent assistance program and is also applying for Section 8 housing as she knows she can non longer afford rent without her partner. We are asking for assistance in paying the remaining amount $679.50 and can provide a copy of the bill. Thank you!

UPDATE:( Family has received 1000.00 towards rent ) so awesome yes Lord. We serve a big God and this is a big request. So lets see what happens. Single mom undocumented dad has been charged with sex crimes against step daughter. Dad was the only income so the family has been relying on churches to pay bills for 8 months While the familys rent although through dads brother has remained unpaid. There was false promises made by KERA to help they never did. Also false promises by other agency's that have left mom kids and landlord uncle in a financial crisis. He told me last night mom is behind 14,000.00 in rent. So he is in a huge bind. So my hope is that several churches can come together to get some back rent paid. This is a sad situation where the system has failed this family. So...... big God big need very likely uncle will need to evict soon if no help is given Pray hard and lets trust God and see what he does. Blessings Chuck

A local foster home in the Olathe area that is placement for a number of teenage boys in care have requested two bedroom doors to replace two bedroom doors in their home that were broken off the hinges and not able to be put back on. The home is in great need of help to replace the bedroom doors to be able to provide privacy for the children in the rooms currently and to be in compliance with state regulations to maintain their foster license and be able to maintain the children currently placed in their home. They would greatly appreciate any assistance possible in getting the bedroom doors replaced.
Mom of 3 needs help acquiring activity toys, rattles, and a baby play gym for a 3 month old. She needs a baby swing and size 3 diapers diapers also. Mom did not expect to have a third child and had given away all baby items. Mom is not going back to work until the end of February so she does not have any income at this time. Her other children are 6 (girl) and 4 (boy who has developmental delays). At this time she is not receiving child support and only has her retired father to help her out.

This family has struggled to reunite and secure an appropriate apartment. They now have an apartment but had fallen behind in rent and utilities. They have now caught the utilities up and believe that going forward they will be able to satisfy their monthly rent and utilities. Both mom and dad work full-time. They are requesting $670 for February rent to insure they go into the month with all bills paid and they believe they will be able to manage all going forward.

Grandma has placement of three of her grandsons from Missouri foster care, ages 16, 13, and 12. A pipe in her front yard burst and needed to be replaced. She then was hit with another large bill in December when she needed to fill her propane tank to heat the house. Grandma is needing financial assistance to help with these unexpected bills. This would allow her to avoid going deeper into debt and ensure the family will have heat.
