Single mother who just recently moved and started a new job is in need of some used living room furniture to furnish her home. There is one child in the home with no additional supports. Thank you in advance for strengthening this family.
This request is to help parents in being able to throw a birthday party for their two year old daughter at Chuck E Cheese. This is one of six children and one of four birthdays in December and January. By covering the cost for the party would alleviate some of that stress the parents experience during this time to make sure their children get to have fun on their birthdays, get presents for their birthday, while also making sure that they are able to get all the children presents for Christmas.
Good morning Care portal and happy Friday! I am currently working with a single 19 year old mom. Who has a 15 day old beutiful baby, this mom is struggling a lot and although DCCCA has been able to provide transportation to appointments, clothing, a baby careseat, among other things. This mom and baby currently need formula, mom is schedule for a wic appointment next Thursday. I am seeking help with three cans of formula and some groceries for this young momma. This worker will be taking the young mom to her local food pantry next Tuesday and will begin connecting her with other resources. However, I want to make sure she has what she critically needs right now. I will be working this weekend, so if you find it in your heart to help. please contact me and I can come to you or we can meet up to cover this need. Thank you for reading, your awesome and I know we will figure this together. God bless you!! (Similac advanced blue label)
Mother is a single mom and is doing the best she can raising 4 boys. She is behind on BPU bill as she recently moved to Kansas after fleeing from her abusive husband. Mom is working really hard but just needs some extra support. Mother is asking for help with groceries and payment of her utility bill to alleviate concerns for children going hungry, and to ensure they are getting fed properly. It will also ensure their electricity does not get shut off as the holidays and cold weather approach.
A single mother raising two children has been facing difficulties finding work because of health issues and not being able to drive. She's reaching out for help to get a new mattress and box spring for her family. However, just mattresses will work fine as well. The family's current beds are almost a decade old, falling apart, and were hand-me downs. On top of that, the mother deals with Psoriasis and Arthritis, and her pain has been worsening because her bed doesn't provide enough support.
Unfortunately, the family hasn't had success getting help from local resources for beds. They urgently need a Queen-sized bed and two twin-sized beds.
If they could get assistance with this, it would greatly improve their sleep, relieve the discomfort of sleeping on worn-out beds, and ease the stress the mother feels from struggling to find suitable beds for her family.

The mother of three children has had to relocate after issues with her current location being in ex husband's name. She unfortunately had to request a new benefits card that will not received in time to pay the 1st months rent and deposit on her new apartment. She is supposed to sign the lease on Friday 12/1/23. She has partial payment in cash, but without being able to access her benefit funds she is going to be $400 short. She is requesting $400 to help secure a new home for her and the children.
thank you.
I am working with a family that lost a lot of their household items due to a bed bug infestation. There are 4 children and two adults living in a two-bedroom apartment. Currently, the children's clothing is on the floor in their closet, and it is difficult for them to locate items that they need. The children's mother has some mental health concerns that she is working to address. Therefore, updating their space and improving the conditions that her children are living in will help boost the overall morale of the home. Thank you so much for any and all help that you can provide. The family is enthusiastically open to second-hand and pre-loved items. Small laundry baskets, bookshelves, and any small storage items would also be helpful.
One of the older children has asthma and has a difficult time keeping up with their siblings. Their mother thinks that a double stroller would help with this a lot.
Thank you so much for supporting the community.

Two of the children continue to wet the bed at night and teachers are reporting the children smell of urine when at school. All four children sleep in the beds together so both mattresses need to be covered.

This request is for a sibling group of 3 (11 yr old boy, 9 year old girl and 7 year old girl) that have been in care for over 4 years due to parental drug use and mental health issues. They are currently placed with an aunt and uncle in KS that are going to adopt them. The aunt said their house is not well insulated and gets really cold in the winter. She is asking for help with comforters and robes for the children. The boy has a full size bed and wears a L in men's. His favorite colors are red/black. The girls both have twin beds and wear a L in girls'. One's favorite colors are pink and purple and the other likes blue and white. The aunt has stated that getting these needs met will take a huge burden off their shoulders as they have really been struggling financially since becoming a family of 8 overnight. These children have no one else and we really want to support this family that is willing to give them a permanent home.

A mother that has recently reunified with her daughters just had her lights turned off and needs assistance with getting her electricity turned back on. Thankfully her heat is powered by natural gas, but she and the kids need to be able to use power to cook and do homework. Mom is struggling to figure out how to turn on her lights and pay rent for December, when her next pay check doesn't come until 12/10. Any assistance for this family would be greatly appreciated. With it being winter and the holidays, most assistance options have been pretty well exhausted.
A relative family has taken in a sibling group of three, ages 9, 10 and 12 as their pre-adoptive resource. The mentioned family member, a relative to these three kids, moved from the State of Washington two summers ago to adopt her nieces and nephew. The sibling group have been in care for over five years and have finally gained a sense of permanency in the near future with their family. With the household expanding to seven members, the mentioned family is financially struggling with putting food on the table to feed all of their children. We kindly request any donations that may help this family provide groceries, especially with the holidays quickly approaching.

DCCCA is currently working with two teen mothers who are in critical need of baby monitors. One of them has a 13-day old, beautiful baby and she is a teen mom that could benefit from having a monitor to effectively care and attend to her sweet baby girl. Unfortunately, this teen mom is a migrant who came with no family and has no support. Our second momma has multiple babies who are in need of constant monitoring as they are now fast and tend to wander around. Keeping them safe is important and necessary. Please consider helping these beautiful children and young moms. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you for reading and God bless you!

They have been unable to make their Spire bill- they have attempted to make half payments so they could get their hot water turned back on and they have been declined. They have to make all $545 to be able to get their hot water turned back on. Being able to turn the hot water on again will help the family in many ways. A student needs an Uber gift card to get to NCC when PHS is not in session. When school is not in session, students are still expected to attend NCC. Due to this student not having transportation to get to NCC, they are being penalized for their attendance. This student is in a family with a single mother who cannot transport this student. An Uber Gift Card would assist him in getting to and from NCC and in turn would improve his attendance.

A 15-year-old male living with a kinship family walks to school every day. With the change in temperatures and winter coming he is in need of a pair of snow boots. He wears a size 15 so these are hard to find in-store and more expensive than a typical pair of boots. He has found a pair on Amazon, but at this family does not have the extra funds to purchase them. We are asking for help purchasing the below boots in brown size 15 wide, so he can continue to walk to school and be prepared for the cold temperatures.

Kinship placement, Grandpa & Great Aunt are caring for 2 young children in their family. The home has cockroaches and desperately needs to be treated. The family is strapped for money and is unable to pay for the treatment. The family has gotten a quote from a pest control company for an initial treatment that would cost $350. They would need to follow up with additional treatments but any help to get them started would be appreciated. This would greatly improve the quality of living for the entire family but especially the children ages 18 months and 5 years old. Please consider helping this family. Thank you.
