The family has been homeless and living from one relative’s home to another for several months. The family had heavily relied on paternal aunt for housing and childcare which allowed both parents to work to be able to pay for food and gas. Recently, paternal aunt is no longer able to support the family due to the needs of her own children, and the family is in a state of crisis. They can stay with another paternal aunt at least for the rest of the month, however mom had to quit her job to be able to be with the children during the day. While the family does have food stamps, they have not been able to make it through the month without additional support. Parents have been taking the children to local kitchens for meals and pantries for food to bring home but are now struggling to pay for the gas needed to go to and from community resources. Dad is still working as much as possible, however they are struggling especially between paychecks. Asking for any amount of gas gift cards.

Child is on a trial home placement with mom and is in need of a bed, mattress, and bedding including blankets, sheets, and pillow. Child is a little boy. He loves spiderman. He is currently sharing a bed with his older brother. Mother is a single mom due to violence in the home. Mother has 3 children including the child in need of a bed and he is the only one without a bed of his own.

Jackson County CD is in need of a few clothing racks for our care closet. This care closet allows us to provide new clothing to children that come into care. These children often come in with dirty, small, and poor clothing. This allows us to send an outfit or two with them to a new and unfamiliar place. We greatly appreciate it!

A smart & vibrant 10- year old has been placed in the care of her aunt for the past two years. During that time her aunt has taken her in to her home and provided her with a safe, loving and stable home. Her aunt moved into a better neighborhood and school district to provide her niece a better lifestyle. Shortly after moving the aunt lost her job and is now struggling to make ends meet. She has gone through all of the steps to take guardianship of this youth & is awaiting guardianship any day now. The youth is in need of some things that the aunt is unable to provide at this time. She is in need of some summer clothing, girls size 10 tops & shorts, women's shoes size 6.5. or 7 tennis shoes. If you are able to help out with this need it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Children's Division is working with a single mom of four. The family has lost a number of things due to being homeless and have recently found a place to live. They had to flee from their last home on account of domestic violence and are essentially starting all over again. They are such a close-knit family that is in need of some assistance. The following is a list of their needs; Female Child 1 (Age: 9) - 10/12 shirts - 14/16 pants - 8 underwear - Size 7 Shoes Female Child 2 (Age: 8) -7/8 Shirts - 7/8 pants - 6 underwear - Size 2.5 Shoes Female Child 3 (Age: 5) - 6 Shirts - 6 Pants - 4 underwear - Size 1 Shoes Male Child (Age: 3) - 3T Clothing - 4 underwear - Size 11 Shoe Mom: - XL Shirt - 20W Black Pants - 40DD Bra - Size 8 Underwear - Size 10 Shoes The Family is also in need of kitchen supplies (Pots, pans, dishes, silverware, ect), toiletries, laundry soap, toilet paper, dishwashing soap, pillows, sheets, blankets, and a first aid kit. The mother is also needing a new wheel alignment on her car and a radiator replaces. She states that she has the parts, she just needs help getting them put on correctly. She would love a washing machine as well but knows that it is a huge ask.

I am currently working with a mother of two with severe mental health issues. She has been unable to work and owes $2200 for her gas bill. They turned off her gas this week and will not turn it back on until she pays $1250. We were able to find a community resource that will pay $500 if we are able to come up with the remaining $750. The mother is working to get into vocational rehab at this time as well as additional mental health services. The gas in her home is for her stove, hot water heater, and heat. I have a teen who needs help paying for immunizations for her dog. I know this isn’t a typical request but this dog means the world to this teen. She raised the dog since it was a pup and has spent a great deal of time training it and entering it into dog competitions (fly ball, I think?). The dog is her companion and she is very attached to him, he has been with her when many people have abandoned our youth. Our youth is in foster care and placed a few hours from the KC area.

Park Hill family. Large family living in small 2 bedroom apartment . Currently the children and mom are all sleeping on the floor or on a mattress with little to no bedding. Mom does not work and the older siblings have jobs and go to school to assist with family finances. Family is very cooperative and appreciative of any and all assistance. Kids are all good kids and do the best they can with what they have.

Child is currently living with Aunt but is moving with dad. She is in need of clothes to finish out her school year and move to dads as she has lived with the mother most of her life. Anything such as underwear, shirts shorts will help alleviate stress during this transitional time. The child is 11 years old, size18 in girls clothing/underwear and 9 ½ for shoes.

A 19 year old is moving out on her own in preparing to be released from care. She has almost everything she needs, but is in search of a queen size mattress for a frame she has already gotten. This will be her bed in her new apartment she just moved into.

A single mother of one was out of work a few weeks, and has just found a new job. However, in the time between, could not pay her utility bill and would like financial assistance to avoid a disconnect. She has also been referred to other utility resources that have not been able to assist.

Bio father is in need of a bunk bed set so that he can start to get expanded time with his 2 boys that can move into overnights and home trial visit. This dad will also need 2 dressers as well as safety locks/plugs and wall mounts for the dresses so they do not fall. He needs safety locks for the kitchen and bathroom he is in need of 1 baby gate

A 13 year old boy was removed from his mother's care due to drug use and concerns for housing. He recently moved in with his father but he is in need of some bedroom furniture! He is need of a dresser for his clothes and belongings

A family with three children currently in care need home repair supplies, paint and painting supplies and tools in order to make repairs needed to the home in an effort to make the home sanitary and safe enough for the children to return home. A gift card to a store such as Walmart or Lowes or Home Depot would be also be helpful.

Relative placement is in need of 2 dressers for two girls. they currently do not have anywhere to put their clothes.

This mother was working 2 jobs while pregnant and trying to save up before giving birth. Her son came early though and was very premature. She has stopped working to be with him at the hospital and is attempting to breastfeed him since that is best for all babies but especially premature babies, but she now cannot afford her rent. She will likely be off for at least 8 weeks. Her rent is $1,300.00. Children's Division has been working with this family of a single mother, four children (aged 9, 8, 5, and 4), and a dog. Mom works nights and is supported by a cousin who helps care for the children. The three eldest children are enrolled in school and the youngest is going to start school next year. Mom is doing her best to try and provide for her children's needs, but is in need of some assistance. She was shy to ask for help, but after explaining that everyone needs help from time to time, she became a lot more comfortable with the idea of letting her community help her. Single mother is getting her own apartment after living with her mom and needs some supplies for her new apartment. A grandmother who has her two year old grandson placed with her recently had major surgery and is still recovering. She is need of assistance with her rent for the month of April, as she is not receiving any income while she is out of work.

Maternal grandmother is the placement provider for two children in Children's Division custody and the guardian of two other children who live in the home. She is looking to move to a larger home to have more adequate space for the children and needs assistance with paying for the deposit to move into the home. She works a full-time job and has already saved up $600 for the deposit. FosterAdoptConnect is willing to provide $1000 towards the deposit and now she just needs assistance towards the remaining balance.
