A father is driving around 50 minutes one way to visit his child weekly. Father has started a job within the last month; however, he has not received a paycheck yet. He is unable to make visits with his child and attend required services set by Children's Division due to lack of gas. This dad would benefit from a gas card to Harp's gas station.
Our school has a family of 7 children that just moved into our district and have only been attending for 8 days. The mother of these children reached out to us Friday asking for assistance. Only 5 of the children attend our school as one is in high school and the other is preschool age. The siblings are very connected as they see each other at school they greet each other with hugs and smiles and waves. So far the children have been a pleasure and fit in well with their peers. Their needs/wants are mostly clothing and bedding. When asked about Christmas toy requests, mom responded "maybe outside stuff." The mother is very appreciative when I speak with her on the phone. This family would value any assistance that can be offered.
Children's sizes are the following:
Girls 4T clothes; size 10-11 shoes
Boys Size 5 clothes; size 13-1 shoes
Boys size 6-7 clothes; size 1 shoes
Girls size 6-7 clothes; size 1 shoes
Boys size 8-10 clothes; size 6 shoes
Girls size Junior XL; size 9W shoes
Boys size Junior XL; size 12M shoes
Toys for any/all ages, maybe outside stuff
Full bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows) x 3 Updated on December 05, 2023 by an Agency Worker There is a correction on this family's bed needs. They only have 2 full beds, not 3.
The family is also building bunk beds and could use 3 twin mattresses. A couple of children are currently sleeping on couches until the beds are finished being built.
The mother also tells me that they do not have winter gear (coats, gloves, hats) because they have not needed them until they moved north to Missouri where temperatures are colder.

This family has 5 children and are closing on a house to help strengthen their family unit. Money is tight as they have been saving everything possible for closing cost. Their children are in need of help with Christmas gifts as the family has no money left after closing cost to buy for 5 children.

Mom and dad have two adorable children, a four-year old girl, and a 21-month old boy. Dad works to support the family, which includes his mother and sister. Mom is currently unemployed but wants to work as soon as she secures daycare for the children. The family washer and dryer are currently broken and laundry is done at a laundry mat. There isn't enough seating in the living room for the family; currently there are two small futons, and there's no child-sized furniture for the children.
I have a family in need of dressers in order to get their home clean and organized before the new edition arrives. The family is currently living off of one income based on the father being laid off and mom will be on maternity leave soon. We have sought out community resources and I have personally purchased a few laundry baskets. They have clothing on the floor, shoved in spaces in the bathroom, and the second bedroom. They have been folding them up and sticking them in baskets and boxes to have some sort of organization. The home has no closet space at all which is they desperately need dressers. If anyone can donate any dressers and totes to this family we would truly appreciate the blessing!
I have a family that needs at least two space heaters but three would be preferred. This placement has an apartment without central heat and air and has been using the stove and layering clothes to stay warm. She is an emergency placement therefore she has not gotten the funds that could help with this situation yet. The placement is hoping to seek a different residence to avoid another winter of bundling up within her home. We are nearing a cold winter and MCD is asking for help to keep this family warm for the winter season. We are also asking for a medical lock box and a fire extinguisher as she begins the foster licensing process. Community resources were checked before this request and they currently do not have any on hand at this time. We appreciate all you do for our families! God bless and happy holidays!
Our school has a family of 4 children between the ages of 5 and 11 who qualify for free meals, that are in need of sheets and blankets (not comforters) for their beds for winter. The 11 year old girl has a queen bed, 2 of the boys share a queen bed as well, with another boy in a twin bed. This family is being sponsored by school staff for Christmas for clothes and toys. These children are new to our district this year, coming from out of state. The kids are very cooperative, get along well with other kids, and are pleasant to have in class. Any assistance that can be provided for this family would be greatly appreciated!

Single parent needs help providing twin size beds, mattresses, and bedding for her two female children, age 3 and 6. This parent has recently dealt with extensive medical issues with her youngest child who also has a twin sibling. Mom is currently working but could use the help of care portal to provide bedding for her older children.
The mother has two children and is not currently working due to her being pregnant. She is getting financial help from her brother but is in need of two front facing car seat for her children as one is about to expire and she doesn't have one for the other, this makes it hard for her to take her children to appointments and such, she has to have someone watch one child while taking the other because she only has one car seat at the moment. Thye children are two girls age 1 and 2
A has had a hard past month as her vehicle was totaled and she only had liability on it and is now with a vehicle. Around the same time, she was offered a promotion at work but due to the wreck was set back a couple of weeks. Upon accepting the position officially, her work stated that she could not take the position due to not having her licenses for a year yet like they required after they told her she unofficially had the job already. She is unable to go back to her lower paying job with them as well as they have already given it to someone else. Now she is attempting to find any job she can in order to pay her rent this next month. Her rent with all utilities included is $1000 and her landlords will prosecute if she does not pay. A has always had a job before so I have no doubt she will get back on her feet but currently is having a rough patch and could use some help. I am separating the costs of her rent by 4 $250 requests in case multiple organizations can only help to a certain extent financially. Thank you in advance!
I have a family in need of a new refrigerator as theirs is going out. The children have been in care for 32 months and just recently started their trial home visit with their mother (who is also expecting and due in May 2024) and their father. The trial home visit started on November 17th.
I have a family, I am trying to start a trial home visit, however, the family does not have bedding for the children. The children are ages 3,6, and 8. Two girls and a boy. We are unable to start the family with their trial home visit until they have proper bedding as they stated they are not able to afford the beds at this time. We are looking into getting a set of bunkbeds and a twin size bed to place in the home to help the family reunify with their children. Children's Division is looking to start weekend visits this weekend and have the kids home by Christmas for the 90 day trial home visit.

Hello,
I have been working with a local mom who just left an abusive relationship. She is a mother of three boys who are 6 years old, 4 years old, and 11 months old. She has moved into her mother and step-father's house for the time being, and shares a bed with her 6 year old son and the 11 month old sleeps in a basinet. The four year old is currently with their father. She has stated that a larger bunk bed would work amazingly for her and her sons as that would allow them to sleep separately and be efficient with the space that they have while she looks for another home.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message.
A mother and her almost 3y/o son (along with her fiance) were recently put out of the home they shared with the grandmother. The mother has physical and mental health concerns and lacks a strong family support system. They are trying to get their items from the home as they left with minimal items.
The family recently moved in with her father, but it's not believed this to be a long term plan.
The mother was open to a care portal request to help build relationships in the community and to develop a support system.
(The mother is hesitant to work with males and prefers contact with females only)
I have a mother that has a car of her own but has been struggling with gaining the funds to get it fixed. The mother decided to relocate herself with family closer to jobs, help with childcare, and the fact that she can possibly gain employment in walking distance. This mother has maintained her sobriety and continues to comply with request even with transportation being a major stressor. The mother used the last bit of money she had buy diapers and gain an officially diagnosis for her car. I am not car tech savvy but the mother can explain further what those repairs are and what shop it is located at. The mother planned to use local resources to get around to ensure her child maintains medical appointments. Her Medicaid benefits have not switched over from her previous state yet therefore she cannot use the Medicaid transit. She is currently on probation and needs to be in a outpatient treatment program in the next month or two to comply with the terms of her probation. The mother has taken charge through out the case to put herself into services, apply for new programs, transfer her current benefits, and remain sober. The mother is enrolled in a program but cannot begin until she gains steady transportation to and from the program. The estimate she has is $800 she is hopefully set to begin her new job in the next few weeks to start saving to pay for repairs. If anyone can help with anything towards the repairs this single mother will be truly grateful.
I have relative providers who are placement of three young children who are in care. They have legal guardianship of another young child as well as their own child. An adult sibling to one of the providers also lives in the home. One of the infants in care is in need of a crib for safe sleep. The family would benefit from an extra refrigerator or a deep freezer to keep in the garage. They buy in bulk as much as they can but do not have a way to store the perishables. They go through 2-3 gallons of milk a day. The family obtaining a crib will allow the child to safely sleep in the home. The refrigerator or freezer will help the family store food, so they don't have to continue to go to the store multiple times a week.
