Family identified through Douglas County Prevention work is facing eviction and homelessness. The family is needing to focus their current income on housing and transportation costs. The 11 year old child in the home is in need of some new clothing, shoes and socks. He is a size 10/12 and needs pants, shirts and socks for children's size 6+. He needs some new shoes as well at least a size 6. The family could also use some food resources, including gift cards for groceries. They will be connected by myself to local food banks and community resources, including our family center as well. Gift cards for clothing so he could pick items out would be greatly appreciated.

Heather:
We can put together clothes for the young male. I need clarification on size. Is it 10/12. Or 6? I can have those ready Monday afternoon and drop or a social worker could shop for the child

We have a young adult who has recently aged out of the system and is doing most everything independently. There have been many items needed for her new apartment but most important, receiving a vacuum cleaner to maintain her living space. This would be incredibly helpful to relieve some of the stress of acquiring all the items/funding she is having to work through.

Hello- I am requesting help to provide some basic necessities for a family of 2, a single mother of a 16 year old female who recently came to Colorado from Peru to escape the violence. They are needing items such as shampoo, body wash, laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products (tampons/pads), and any other personal hygiene products. This little request will substantially help this family as they are trying to establish their residency in Colorado. The 16 year old is very smart, loves math and wants to be an architect when she grows up. Daughter and mom enjoy watching shows together on their phones and taking walks. Gift cards to grocery stores and Target would also be highly effective in helping this family get on their feet. Mom travels by bus, 50+ minutes to her employment. Bus passes or financial assistance to contribute to transportation also helpful.

Client is pregnant with second child and feeling very nauseated. Client has a three year old daughter and husband is working three jobs to sustain family financially. Client recently had an accident and fractured her foot. It is proving hard to care for her daughter and keep up with home duties on crutches. Client inquired and found out her insurance will not cover a scooter. Therefore, client needs to rent one for a few months while she waits to meet with a surgeon at the beginning of May. Client found a place that charges $100 dollars a month to rent.
This will help client care better for her daughter and herself. Client in concerned it will get harder to walk on crutches as her pregnancy advances. Client will get payment information from rental company for donor to pay directly.
I am currently working with a family of five. Due to concern with their biological parents, the children have been placed with a kinship provider. Anything would be greatly appreciate to help out my family. Thanks!
The family is low in-come and already utilizes the food bank.

Family has a very high needs child who is diagnosed with Angelman's Syndrome. Child is unable to communicate, walk, or care for himself. Mother is a single mother and father is believed to be totally uninvolved. Child's teenage and adult siblings help to care for him while mother works a night job. Family is overwhelmed and experiencing significant financial stress. They recently moved to Colorado from rural Nebraska to have access to more and better services for the child. Due to child's inability to control bodily functions, family needs a leather type couch and loveseat, or sectional, that can be easily cleaned. They currently have no furniture to sit on while sharing time together watching movies, television, or socializing in their living room. Used or new would be acceptable, just something in good shape. Estimated cost based on new, but could be more or less.

Maternal grandparents are caring for their grandchildren. They were previously living with parents, but when it became unsafe, grandparents left the home with the children. They were previously living with friends while they were in the process of renting a home. The family is low income and grandmother has a disability and unable to work. The family is looking for a wonderful individual who may have a few dressers they would like to donate or a toddler bed that their child may have grown out of. Due to the young ages of the children, rugs would also be great to help keep the carpet clean.

The family has been accepted into a new housing unit and they are in desperate need of a few items as they are working on packing things up.
