Hello, I am a voluntary case manager that has been working with a family with housing issues. The 16 yo girl I am working with lives with her grandma right now. Grandma has been helping to preserve her granddaughter's school since the school is a huge source of support and connection for her. She has been living with grandma for about a year. She has some mental health concerns and also an issue with enuresis especially at night. Grandma and granddaughter informed me the bed she is sleeping on is hurting her back because it is so broken down including the bed frame. Grandma is on a limited income and parents do not have extra funds to help right now. Mom is working on suitable housing to maintain her daughter's school. Dad lives in Mpls and he reports his finances are tight and doesn't have extra funds either. This bed will be going with her when she moves back with her mom. She's waking up tired and hurting which is impacting her learning and mental health. She has been dealing with a lot of changes (a new baby sister), parent's going to court to fight for custody of her, and a lot of other disruptions.

My request: new full size bedframe, mattress, and mattress protector (encloses the entire mattress). This would be a huge help to this girl's mental health and education.

SPANISH SPEAKING FAMILY. Mother is pregnant (baby boy due end of April, beginning of May) and needs assistance with a car seat (infant bucket car seat with handle for easy carrying). We have tried several other options aside from Care Portal and parent does not qualify. This is an immigrant family who was residing in a shelter until recently and could use supports for baby items. Mother also has a 13-year-old daughter. Baby needs a package of size 1 diapers and wipes, baby boy onesies and baby pajama sleepers, size 3-6 month/6 month size, baby blanket, and burp towels. Youth will be 18 in about 6 months - she is currently (and has historically) experiencing housing instability and has been hopping between different relatives' homes. She has nowhere to put her belongings. She is in need of a dresser so she is able to have somewhere to put her things and hopefully it will help her feel more stable.

There are 2 children (ages baby girl 6 months and boy age 11). They would like a dresser that is taller vs wider to save on space within the home, also one that is sturdy for safety reasons. The family consists of a single father and his two teenage children. It is a single income home and they recently moved into a new home. They have very limited furniture and are in need of assistance to provide the family with very basic furniture.

The family is ok is with gently used furniture including a small kitchen table and 4 chairs and 2 dressers and a floor lamp.

This provider is taking care of three of her grandchildren. She is a single woman who works full time and does not have a budget for many extra things. The children have accumulated some things since they have been with her, so she needs an additional dresser for them. She also is requesting two new beds, including frames and mattresses.

The family includes a single mother and a 13-year-old girl. Mom is very hard-working and committed to her daughter's success and overall well-being. The youth is dedicated to her education and wants to ensure that she is prepared for high school in the fall. Mom has had to change her work schedule and is not able to bring her daughter to and from school some days of the week, and the school does not offer bussing to their location. The youth could benefit from a bike in order to get to and from school on the days in which her mother is working. The youth is 5'4'' tall and would need a bike for that height. She would prefer a black bike/helmet. Thanks for considering!!

A mother and her 12-year-old daughter lost their housing in October 2024 and were homeless and living in a shelter until March 2025 when they got housed in a new 2-bedroom apartment in their community of choice. The mom worked incredibly hard to get new housing so they could be safe and stable again and get the daughter's emotional support cat back (which they will soon be getting!). They are so happy in their new apartment and they were able to get most of their previous items out of storage and bring them to the new apartment. One of the final items they need is a kitchen table and chairs (2 chairs). Right now they have a folding table and folding chairs substituting.

A mom and her two daughters live together in an apartment and the mother recently left the children's abusive father. She is working with the court system to ensure her and her children's safety going forward. The father broke a lot of items in the apartment and one of the major items he broke was their couch. The family doesn't have anything to sit on together in the living room and are hoping for a couch so they can sit together again (regular 3 cushion couch). The family lives on the first floor of the apartment building.

Spanish speaking couple of low economic means is requesting a twin bed frame, mattress, waterproof mattress pad, (for their 2 young boys to share) and single stroller for the toddler boy. Per our organization's policy, we request new items only. Thank you very much.
