I am working with a family who has 7 minor children (ages 4-17). Along with the children, there are 5 adults in the home (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, and adult child).

During the recent storms, the family's home/electrical system was struck by lightning. The electrical system was blown and is currently in the process of being fixed so AEP can turn the electricity back on. When the home/electrical system was hit by the lightning, the family's refrigerator, stove, microwave, and A/C units were all fried and damaged, resulting in the family now needing new appliances.

The family could also benefit from groceries as well due to the majority of their food going bad after having no power for several days. The family does have some allergies so if anyone is able to help with groceries, please let me know first before purchasing any items.

This family of 9 in Salem is composed of children ages 4, 5, 11, 12, and 16 plus four adults. The family's outdoor air conditioning unit needs to be replaced. The family has been enduring the heat of the summer without air conditioning. A CP donor supplied the family with one air conditioning unit in the meantime. Service Experts completed a diagnostic quote for the family to fix the system at $7,942. The family is on a payment plan with AEP and is struggling to afford unplanned expenses while also meeting the family needs.

Nine-year-old male child is placed outside of the home of his grandmother/custodian through a Parental Child Safety Placement Agreement (PCSPA). The placement is his aunt, who has 2 biological children (including 1 son) who has been displaced from his bedroom, to provide a space for the nine-year-old to sleep. The Department was able to secure funding and provide a bunk bed for the placement. The family is now in need of 2 twin mattresses, so both boys have a place to sleep while the child is placed with them. The placement's funding has yet to process through at this time, and without a place for all 3 children to sleep, this placement for the nine-year-old could be put in jeopardy. Please consider blessing this family.

Father of 3 children, ages 5, 3, and 18 months is in need of assistance with a gas bill that is past due. The mother of the children is outside of the home due to court intervention. She does not have stable employment at this time, so she is unable to financially assist in taking care of the children. The father is self-employed through contract work, which has been affected recently due to the weather and his and his children's illnesses. The Department has been able to provide assistance with other more urgent bills. The father is requesting assistance with the gas bill, so it does not become an emergency. Without this bill being paid, the children run the risk of being placed outside of the home. Thank you for considering this request.

A father requests help with a window AC unit for his home. He and his child have been sleeping in the living room on the floor at night because it is the only room with an AC window unit. They live on the second floor and their home gets very hot during the day.

A family of six with four children and two parents in need of grocery assistance. The father was getting regular overtime however that has stopped and now there is financial strain. The parents have expressed difficulty in affording their bills and groceries. Requesting $200 of grocery assistance in the form of a gift card however any amount of support will help.

Good Afternoon. I want to start off thanking you all for everything you do. I am currently working with a family that has a son going through a lot of mental health issues. Mom is doing the best she can with the home and keeping everything afloat. She has an apartment inspection next week and is needing assistance with cleaning supplies. trash bags and hygiene products. She does have a job and is working full time but, she is also a single parent taking care of both children. She also could use some help with bus passes to get to work and appointments. Mom is doing everything she can to keep the child in the home but is also very scared of failing the inspection due to her sons behaviors. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A niece has recently volunteered to care for her younger cousin to keep her out of foster care, and asks for help with clothing. The girl is 15 years old and needs shirts and pants.

The family's home caught fire and the children's items were unable to be saved. They are low on clothes and shoes. It is a single mother and her three children. Mom does work full time. Any help is appreciated.

The mother is a single caring for three children while working full time. At this point, they are staying in hotels. The Red Cross paid for one week at the hotel. Any help is appreciated.

This family consists of an aunt who is caring for 4 children to keep them out of foster care. She has been heavily burdened with a vehicle that she purchased that has had continued maintenance problems and she is trapped in a car loan where she has owes more than the car is worth and paying very high amounts in interest. The costs of maintaining the vehicle and paying the loan payments are preventing her from being able to have the money she needs to cover her basic living expenses. We are asking for a vehicle donation or help purchasing a vehicle for this aunt so that she can sell her car and pay off a large portion of her car loan. We are also looking for wisdom or advice if anyone has experience with these circumstances.

Due to concerns of neglect, the children - aged 3 and 4 - are currently staying with other family members. Due to the unexpected nature of the case, the family is in need of assistance with getting the children adequate clothing while the parents work to address the concerns in the initial referral. The children need new shoes, as well as several sets of summer clothing. The 4-year-old boy wears size 5t clothing and size 9 shoes. The 3-year-old girl wears size 4t and size 7 shoes.
