Mom with 3 kiddos in the home. Mom is in need of some toddler sippy cups, bowls, plates and silverware. Mom is a DV survivor and is on her own with no other family. Mom is working on herself before being able to pursue a job or education. The kids are under the age of 3. Mom could use foods and snacks as well for kiddos. Kiddos are a 2 year old and 2 6 month olds. Mom also is in need of a car seat for her 2-year-old. Her last car seat was in an accident and cannot be used.

This client is a mom who experienced domestic violence now has an apartment with her middle school aged son and 1 8- month old daughter. Mom doesn't have a stroller to take 1 yr. old out for walks which she would really like to do as days become nicer. Thank you.

Case Manager works with a young child with developmental disabilities who lives with his single mother who has a history of being a victim of domestic violence. Mother continues to do her very best to meet her child's needs. She is working but it is not full time. She also has worked hard to get herself a vehicle. They currently live in a trailer house that has a lot of work that needs to be done. Careportal churches have assisted in the past to rid the home of rodents. Rodents are back and making family sick. Family is looking for help with Bob the Bug Man payments so they can get rid of the mice as well as working to come up with a longer term solution such as closing holes in the trailer. Mom doesn't have the resources at this time to cover the cost herself. Anything can help.

Single mother of 4, soon to be 5, in need of a couch. They currently do not have any furniture in their living room space and would like a couch as they currently sit/lay on the floor when spending time together. Family is not particular and would be happy with any type of couch - used is totally ok!

Single, low-income foster mother who is soon to deliver and does not have the funds to buy a baby swing and baby stroller.

This request is for a stroller for new baby girl. The mother is single with very limited resources. The mother was unemployed for several months due to many reasons; but she is ready to get a job as soon as possible.

I have a family with a single mom and 4 boys. The family is looking for a dining table and chairs to be able to sit together for meals, homework, and family time. The family currently has a set but it is falling apart and only have a couple of chairs left so not everyone is able to sit together at once. One of the kids is currently sleeping with a mattress on the floor and is in need of a twin bedframe to support his mattress. This will hopefully increase his ability to get some better sleep.

Headlice can be a prevalent issue for some school age children in Olmsted County. Not only is this an embarrassing situation for the student, but the treatment can also be cost prohibitive for many families, especially if there are several children in the home who need treatment or if more than one round of treatment is needed to resolve the issue. For times like these public health likes to have a few kits on hands to help families in crisis. Like most things, the cost of these treatments have risen. Currently the most affordable option seems to be the Nix Family Pack on Amazon that includes two treatments for approximately $15, however any kit would be acceptable and appreciated.

Lumber/material needed to update front steps - unsure of total cost Parents worry about my 6-year-old client's safety, specifically on the front steps into the home. They hope to make the front steps wider and the landing a little larger to prevent him or the other four children from falling/getting hurt. The family is in need of the lumber/materials in order to make this update, as they are financially strained. *My client has been struggling with physical health issues that impact his ability to walk and perform daily living skills on his own somedays. He has a wheelchair to use when he has a really bad day. The impact his health has on his physical ability varies day to day. He does not qualify for a ramp or modification to the steps with the current services that he receives.

5th grade student in need of the following hypoallergenic hygiene items: laundry soap, face and body wash, deodorant, shampoo & conditioner. Cannot be any Tide products and has to be paraben and sulfate free. Grandparents are the primary caregivers and on disability.

A mother and her three children have been homeless for over a year due to a custody arrangement requiring them to move across the country to Minnesota with no place to live. They were finally able to get their own place here in Rochester and have everything they need except a twinsize mattress and bedframe for the eight-year-old daughter. They have a box spring just not the mattress or bedframe. When this need is met, it will help this mother get back on her feet after experiencing domestic violence, so she can use some of her money towards other bills and not have to worry about her child sleeping on an air mattress. This will help the child to better acclimate to the new environment, positively impacting her sleep, education and overall wellbeing.

This worker's client consists of a family who just recently moved into a new home after being without a home for four months. Due to being without a home multiple times in the past, the family was not able to keep most of their belongings in storage. Thus, the family expressed a need for help to obtain some furniture which could help improve the children's overall well-being.

The family requested a queen-sized mattress with a bed frame and box spring, three dressers, and a dining room table and six chairs. This worker heard that the family doesn't mind if the dressers, chairs, and dining table are second-hand if they are in good shape.
