Mother is reuniting with her one-year-old child after the child was previously safety planned out of her care. Mother has been making strides to address mental health and substance use issues. Mother is currently doordashing as her main source of income, but it is not enough to provide for the needs of her child. The items requested will help the mother get back on her feet while she searches for new employment. They will also assist with ensuring the child has what he needs to have a seamless transition back into his mother's care.

Items needed: -Summer clothes 3T/4T -Toddler bed with sheets and blankets -Small wagon (child hates being in a stroller) -Toys if possible (child loves trucks and cars) -Window AC unit (child room gets extremely hot) -Purple or teal curtains and curtain rods for mother (there are three windows that need these)

Client has recently stayed at the SHE shelter. Client is newly relocated to the area and is trying to get on her feet. Client is in need of a new car battery. The client needs her car to access resources for her and her son.

I am working with a family of 5 in need of beds and bedding. There are 2 adults and 3 children (2 boys and one girl). This family is new to the area and has been without beds for a few months. They are needing 3 twin mattresses, 1 twin bed frame, 1 twin over twin bunkbed frame, 1 queen mattress, 1 queen bed frame, and sheets and comforters for the beds. The father works full time and the mother is pregnant and stays home with the youngest child and it is difficult for them to find furniture that they can afford after paying rent and utility bills.

This family speaks Pashto and little English.

A single mother of one son is hoping to get him engaged with the community in a way that supports his mental health and hyperactivity. This mother is working on undergoing dental procedures so that she can find employment to become self-sufficient. In the meantime, this mother has identified karate at Uplevel Martial Arts as a helpful activity for her son to release his energy in a healthy way, while also connecting him with friends in the community and opening a doorway to build her support network with other parents. As this mother is currently unemployed, she is seeking financial assistance to continue her son's karate classes for two months until she is able to cover the cost. This mother is working hard to get her son involved with therapy services and activities like karate so that he can learn new coping skills, be involved in the community, and safely release his energy.

She would like to take her son swimming this summer and is looking for a life vest and some summer clothing. (size 6-7) child weighs 42 lbs. May be used or new. Young son is an emerging swimmer and could use a life jacket with floaties on arms to practice his strokes.

Currently working with a mother and two children who escaped a violent situation. Currently living in a home with other relatives. The area is small, and they are in need of items that will help with decluttering the small space that they are living in and ensure that the home is free of clutter and safety concerns. The family would be grateful to receive plastic storage bins that can be stacked to declutter the home.

Requesting car repair assistance for a family of three children and two adults. This family is working hard to get back on their feet after facing several difficult challenges in recent months. While trying to sustain shelter at a hotel, the family's car broke down and made it so their source of income (delivery driving) was no longer accessible. With the support of many agencies in the county, they have now been able to find stable housing and are hoping to get back to work ASAP. The car is needing some mechanic repairs in order to drive safely and must pass inspection before they can return to work. The family has already purchased the parts needed except for one, a disc brake caliper part 18-B5032B. They are searching for assistance purchasing this part and either financial assistance to pay a mechanic or someone who could make the repairs for them! Your help would mean so much to this family as they work to become self-sufficient once more!

I am working with a pregnant mother who is expecting a baby girl this month. She is requesting help to purchase an electric self-rocking bassinet that is about 30 inches or taller so that her other young children will not be able to climb inside. The father works and is able to cover utilities and rent each month and has been able to purchase most of the items that they will need but they are needing help to make this purchase. This mother is also asking for body wash and lotion for reducing stretch marks.

Mom has been left on her own abandoned by husband to survive in this country alone. Mom speaks Kinyarwanda and is need of summer clothing for her children so they can attend school. Girl size 5, boy size 12, boy mens small, and girl womens medium. The older children have requested new clothing ( peer pressure at school!), but younger children would love new or used clothing.

Sweet immigrant Dari speaking Mom raising 3 boys on her own while waiting for her husband to join her in the United States. Mom is managing rent and bills on her own by working at UVA full time but has recently had some critical health issues. She has drastically reduce her work hours as per medical advice while she awaits a major life saving surgery. Upon a recent home visit we observed that Mom has sold the family car to pay bills and now walks to work when physically able. Her younger boys have requested clothes, and cleats since they would like to continue playing soccer on the school team. Boys summer clothes size 8 and 14-16. Cleat size youth 4 and 13. The boys would also benefit from summer shoes such as crocs or sandals size 4 and 13. All items may be new or used.

We are reaching out to request assistance with room decor for a child currently in foster care. This child, who is 7 years old, is incredibly friendly and energetic, always full of enthusiasm and excitement. Recently, the foster family was able to secure a new bed for the child through a Care Portal request, which has made a significant improvement in the child’s living space. However, the child has expressed a desire to personalize the room further and create a space that feels more comfortable and truly their own.

The child has requested Sonic the Hedgehog-themed window curtains and a blanket/comforter (Sonic too) t as they continue to settle into their bedroom.
