A kinship placement with five older youth (three children in care and two other children) in the home is in need of grocery assistance. The Placement Provider has had difficulty financially keeping up with groceries for the youth in her home. Easy meals for the kiddos to make or a Walmart gift card would be appreciated!

A 13-year-old male at a kinship placement needs a queen size bed frame. He currently is sleeping on a mattress on the floor. This bed frame will improve the child's well being by giving him a more comfortable place to sleep.

We have a kinship placement that is in need of a five point harness car seat. Grandpa and Grandma are fostering their toddler grandchild while raising several other grandchildren under a guardianship. The toddler is in daycare and needs a car seat in order to get back and forth to daycare safely.

Placement lives in Clever but car seat can be delivered to the MBCH office or the home.

There are 2 children in this home, a 7-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old boy. The children have been permissively placed with their father for the last 6 months, and they have been in care for the last 18 months. The father has done everything asked of him and more. He is extremely proactive and resourceful when it comes to getting his kids what they need, but becoming disabled has put a huge financial strain on the family. The father owns the home, but it is in extremely poor condition. The father has applied for assistance through OACAC, Springfield Help, and Habitat for Humanity, but he won't be able to get help from any of them for at least another year. The father could get custody of his children back if it weren't for the conditions of the home. The home needs new flooring, damage to the walls fixed, the bathroom/plumbing fixed, and it needs to be weatherized. Anything anyone can help him with would be greatly appreciated.

This single mom is trying to reunify with her 5 boys. She is in need of extra funds to pay for the first week of summer day camp while she is at work. This would help her cover the first week and put in her applications to hold their spots in the program. This would cover 3/5 boys who would be attending this summer camp after summer school lets out in June. Thank you!!

I have a child that has been very excited to join band next school year. She will be going into 6th grade and was unable to participate in Elementary school. She is really wanting to play the trombone. Placement has been unable to find a trombone for her, and the rental program is out of their budget. This child has been completing choirs to save money and has asked if there is any way we could help her get the instrument. This child has struggled a lot in school in the past. She had not attended school and did not know how to read prior to coming into care in 2023. This school year, she has worked extremely hard and is almost caught up to her grade level in every subject. She used to dread going to school due to being behind. Now, she is dreading her last day of school and has been trying to find any way to get more involved. Band is something this child has been looking forward to, and will help further her sense of belonging.

A Father is in the process of reuniting with his 2 children, he is in need of mattresses for their beds. The children came into care after a Domestic Violence incident in their mother's home led to the death of their step-father.

An older youth I work with is graduating next Sunday. He doesn’t have many supports in his life and will be transitioning into an apartment program this summer. I’d love to be able to give him a graduation gift to help him during this next chapter. If possible, I’m hoping to collect a few gift cards to support him as he takes this important step forward.

Single mom needs several booster seats and car seats for her 4 boys under the age of 5. Team plans to reunify this family within a few months. Mom is doing really well!

This is a family with four young children, one of whom has a disability. Their washer broke and they need a new Samsung water pump. They said they can fix it themselves if they get the part. The part is approximately $50. They also need some parts to fix their vehicle. They need an ignition coil and a control module. These parts are approximately $150. Once the car is fixed they need to pay taxes and registration. They said they will fix the car themselves if they can get the parts. Dad is working. Mom stays home with the children.

I found another source to fix the washer. A portal member is providing the car parts. The family still needs help with registration/title fees for the vehicle.

I am working with a mother who has 5 children on trial home visit. The family suffered a tragic loss leading to some very hard times financially and emotionally. Due to this, the bill for utilities has gotten pretty far behind and has been shut off in the recent past. The mother has been able to gather enough money to keep the utilities on over the last month but is several months behind and needs help catching up. This mother has made incredible progress and is able to provide a beautiful home for her children. She is just struggling to catch up on some bills right now and could use some help with her utility bill. Paying all or a portion of the bill would be very helpful.

I am working with a sweet 11 year old young lady who just moved back in with her mother and siblings. She needs a dresser in her bedroom and a shelf for her personal things. She has a nice sized bedroom and would benefit from something that would hold her shorts/socks and items like that. She also needs a place to store books and toys. She is all girl and has a twin bed. It would be wonderful if she could also get a few wall hangings and comforter to "girl" up her room a bit. It doesn't have to match but would be nice to help her feel great about herself and her room.
