We are getting ready for Walker’s Kid’s Day, which is our community’s big back to school event. I would like to send a Care Portal request for school supplies. Any school supplies will be appreciated! I have attached last year’s supply list for one of the elementary/middle schools. Some of our biggest requests last year were:

Ear buds – for middle and high school Headphones – for elementary school Colored pencils Plastic folders of different colors Paper Composition notebooks Pencils Pencil Boxes Scissors Glue Sticks

Kid’s Day is July 29th, so we would need these items by July 28th at the latest. Thank you!

A Family needs a new door frame and/or door, as their front door will not shut without some care. CM observed the door frame and noticed that it is potentially rotting, and the latch is bent in a particular way, allowing the door to shut. Once this is fixed, BMO can put in alarms in her home to ensure the children are staying in at night. The children's ages are 10, 15, and 17.

The Care House in Shelbyville, TN provides temporary shelter for boys and girls in DCS custody that are waiting for longer term placements. The home has a basic refrigerator with a small top freezer. Unfortunately, it does not hold enough food for the house to go a week without the need to buy additional supplies. We are hopeful that a kind soul or souls would be able and willing to supply the house with a freezer. Thank you in advance!

I found a suitable 11 cubic ft. upright freezer at Amazon for $699.99 and estimated additional taxes and such to reach $775. ( Go To Link ) I'm sure similar could be found at Lowes or Walmart.

We have an Adult Sibling, who has taken custody of her three siblings ( 1 college, 7 year old and 3 year old). The recently moved into the new apartment and have most everything they need except a couch. We received a request for assistance from the GAL after he completed a home visit. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Due to their home burning down, A family of three is currently living in a hotel in Coffee County. The family was approved for an apartment in Shelbyville and is set to move on May 5th. The family has worked hard for their new home, but the family does not have furniture and other materials needed for their new home. The family requested a king size bedframe, queen size bedframe, kitchen table, and a couch.

A young mother has fled an abusive situation with her 4 children, ages 6-15. They left with the clothes on their back and nothing else. She has a full-time job and has found a home to rent. She is has zero money to have electricity and water turned on at their new home. There is also a need for all home items including furniture, bedding, kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies, and anything you need for a home. To have the electricity turned on is $400 and water is $162. Let's pull together so they can safely live in their new home with the basic needs of electricity and water and needed items.
