Help Remove an Educational Barrier for a Child
It can be tough for parents facing financial difficulties and the high cost of living to provide enriching experiences like summer camp for their children. Many low-income students miss out on these valuable opportunities each year. Your donation can make a real difference, helping to cover the costs of summer camp and giving these students a chance to learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment. The amount needed is $620 for five of our students. Please consider contributing to help us send more children to summer camp. Thank you!

Help Remove an Educational Barrier for a Child
This request is being submitted on behalf of a student whose family is currently experiencing homelessness. The student resides with her mother and younger sibling. Following a recent separation from her spouse, the student's mother has been unable to secure stable housing and is currently staying with a friend. The mother is enrolled and finishing cosmetology school, and is working diligently to save for independent housing for her family. Despite the family's current circumstances, the student has remained dedicated to her academic and extracurricular commitments. She has been an exceptional member of the school’s cheerleading team, which has served as a critical emotional outlet and source of stability and confidence during this challenging time. Unfortunately, the student's mother is not able to cover the costs for the cheerleading program for the upcoming school year which is totaled at $3,598.95. Due to financial constraints, the family is only able to contribute $500 toward this expense. We are also exploring fundraising opportunities at the school site and other ways to reduce some of these fees. We are requesting assistance to help cover the remaining balance so that the student may continue participating in the program that plays such a significant role in her well-being and school engagement. Continued participation in cheerleading will contribute positively to the student’s mental health, school attendance, and sense of belonging during her critical senior year.
