Children's Division has been working with two caregivers of a newborn relative that was placed into their care. The family just moved into their own apartment, they are in need of a couch. Both caregivers have been working extra to afford expenses for moving as well costs associated with care for their newborn. Helping fill this need will create a more comfortable living environment for these two caregivers, which in turns will help the child.

Two children are currently in foster care placed with their maternal grandmother. The mother of the children has moved into her own apartment and is trying to obtain furniture for her two children. She has a 4 month old and a 16 month old.

Mother is currently needing help due to recent injury at work and getting paid less. She is concerned about her son stealing the marijuana she is using to assist her medically and that is causing major tension in the household. Mother has asked to see if we can help get her a medical lock box for her personal belongings.

This family has been living in a broken apartment for a while now, and finally got approved for a new apartment. However, they are requiring a month and a half rent for the first month, which Mom did not budget for. Once this initial rent has been paid (due June 1st) Mom reports they can easily make rent every month, just the extra half a month was too much for their already tight budget. Mom is pregnant, and they would like to move into the new place as soon as possible, as the old apartment is not suitable to live in currently. Once rent has been paid, the family can start moving into their new, non broken home.

School Social Worker is working with a single mom who is in need of assistance with her Evergy bill. This is a single working mom who works hard and takes great care of her kids. She has fallen behind on her Evergy bill and has received a disconnect notice for 5/21/25. The disconnect amount is $303.31, the the total amount owed is $390.79. Please consider blessing this hard working mom and helping to keep her electricity on for her 3 children.

The parent for a prior request communicated the incorrect amount for her deposit on apartment. She thought it was $210 but it is actually $300. She is needing to have additional $90 in order to get moved into her new place. TY to the group who offered to pick this up once I resubmitted it TY She is starting over with her kiddos in a new safe place and her first time being on her own. She is grateful for any help that she can get.

Mother recently required surgery and also got removed from her work position/transferred into a new position more suitable for her. This new position, however doesn't pay as much so the mother is not making as much as before. She is needing temporary assistance to help get caught up on a few things, but is working and trying to maintain stable housing for her child. Mom would like assistance with rent (1200) at least with half (600), electric (160.29) and gas (278.65)

I am working with a family to help keep their 3 young children safely in the home with them. The children are 1 (girl), 2.5 (boy) and 5 (boy). One of the major goals of this case is to improve supervision with the children and to increase their bonding efforts. Currently the family is not able to sit together to eat. This is difficult given the ages of the children. They do have a table and 2 chairs, they could use 2 or 3 kitchen table chairs, a highchair or booster chair that clips on to a chair with a tray. The family would be open to used and would also take an entire table chair set if someone had one.

The family also desperately needs cleaning supplies and hygiene items: paper towels, Clorox wipes, all-purpose cleaner, dish washing soup, liquid and dish-washer appropriate, laundry detergent, baby wipes, toilet paper and even queen size sheets.

I know it's a lot and please don't feel like you have to get it all. Anything helps. The most urgent need is the highchair and baby wipes. With 3 kids they go through a lot!

These items will help the family get their dining room cleaned up and appropriate to help facilitate family time and safer eating solutions than what they have currently been doing. I am happy to facilitate delivery in any way that I can. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Clay County Children's Division frequently works with families who do not have transportation, but they need to get their children to the hospital, to forensic interviews, or to other vital appointments. These appointments are often unplanned and urgent. We are requesting 5 $50 Uber cards to have available when these unexpected needs arise.

The family just had a newborn and is needing a bed, parents are currently sleeping on air mattress.

A family of 4 is in need of 4 smoke detectors. The family’s youngest child is 14- months old. After an almost 7-month long NICU stay he is home with his family. The child went home on oxygen. The family home currently does not have smoke detectors. Being on oxygen comes with an increased risk of fire. The mother will really like smoke detectors in the home to help put her mind at ease and know her baby is sleeping safely. The family has reached out to several nonprofits and fire departments who were unable to help meet this need. Thank you for considering the opportunity to serve a sweet sweet family.

A mother and her children are fleeing a domestic violence situation, and his home was the home they were living in but the utilities are in her name. She has notified the Evergy and KCMO water that she is not living there anymore. She needs $210 for apartment admin fees and she needs to bring the electric and water current so they can transfer to her at the new place. She has moved hotels twice to stay away from her abuser, and she is going to start counseling services once she is stable in her living arrangement.

She is helping herself and needs a little more help, not a handout, but a hand up. Children's Division saw the family in a hotel yesterday and they have gone to shelters for food. The mother has a stable job and if she can get the help with these needs, she will be on her way to financial independence and not reliant on her abuser for shelter.
