Greetings! I'm working with a family who has a 7-year-old child who is blind. During the school year, he was provided with a walking stick (cane) at school, which supported his mobility and independence throughout the day. However, now that school is out for the summer, he no longer has access to that resource. The family is seeking assistance in obtaining a walking stick for him to use at home and in the community. Having his own cane would greatly enhance his ability to navigate his surroundings safely and confidently, encouraging continued skill development and independence outside the school environment.

This support would be incredibly meaningful to the child and his family, helping him maintain consistency in his mobility and access to the world around him.

The family is in need of 4 T Fall and Winter Clothing for a female child. The father is employed and mother is not employed/looking to go back to school in the near future. The child is currently in 3 T clothing; however, is nearing growing out of that size.

This family is a family of five. She is a single mom working hard to reunify her family. She is needing assistance with transportation at this time. We are requesting a few bus passes to get her to and from seeing all of her children. Anything is very appreciated!

She works hard and is doing what she can to get to and from visitation. We are requesting bus passes to help get this mom to and from her visits with her son until her car can be fixed. Food Donation for Children at the Care Center The OKDHS Care Center offers a home-like setting for children awaiting placement. The Center is a safe, comfortable environment for children as the child welfare worker completes necessary paperwork and identifies a foster placement. Children often come in hungry. The Care Center allows children to choose what they want to eat, giving them a choice when they do not have many choices. We have a list of possible suggestions but are open to any food donation that is easily prepared. The Care Center has a refrigerator and can accept frozen or cold foods. Thank you for your help!

A parent living on a little income with next to no discretionary funds, could use help with gasoline card (maybe an OnCue or Casey's) to help the parent participate in transporting his child as the case is nearing Trial Reunification and coparenting.

I am reaching out to share the inspiring story of one of our residents, a dedicated single mother who is determined to improve her life and secure a better future for her daughter through education and professional development.

This remarkable mom has been diligently juggling her part-time job, parenting responsibilities, and her studies as she works toward obtaining certification in her field. This mom fell just one point short of securing a free voucher that would have covered the cost of her main certification exam. Currently, her part-time job provides enough to meet her daily expenses, including car payments and insurance. Unfortunately, the cost of the certification exam exceeds $600, which she cannot afford out-of-pocket at this time.

By providing financial assistance for this exam, you would not only help her achieve her immediate goal of obtaining certification but also enable her to pursue a career she is truly passionate about.

To gain certification, she must first become a member of the AACP, which requires a membership fee of $222, in addition to a $399 voucher for the exam. We believe that investing in her future will create a ripple effect, positively impacting her daughter's life and setting a powerful example of perseverance and dedication. Your support could make a transformative difference in their lives.

We are currently working with a single father and a 1 year old son. The family moved into their home not too long ago and they are still working on settling in. The father works hard to maintain a safe and comfortable home for his family. The father would like assistance getting a dresser and would appreciate any help he can receive. The department is working with a single father who has been reunified with his young child. He is starting over and could use a couple items to assist him in parenting the small child. He is in need of a high chair that attaches to a table chair so they can sit at the table together as well as a potty chair so they can start potty training. Please consider helping meet this families need.

Two parents are in need of bus passes to help with transportation issues. They have recently come into financial difficulty as well as trouble with their car, making attending court, required services, and visits with their kids difficult. If they are provided the passes, they will be able to make it to their services and visits, continuing to make good progress towards reunification with their children.

Two parents have recently moved into a new home and are in need of two twin beds for their children in order to be able to start having overnights with their children and ultimately to reunify with them. The parents have been working very hard to finally have of safe home of their own so that they can have overnight visits, and now just need two twin mattresses and bed frames if they can be provided so the kids will have a proper place to sleep.

A resilient single mother of two young children (ages 3 and 12) has been facing ongoing financial hardship after escaping a violent household and becoming the sole provider for her family. Despite her determination, she has encountered significant barriers to securing stable employment—until now. She has just been offered a job starting on 07/21/25, a critical turning point in her journey toward stability and self-sufficiency. However, she is at immediate risk of losing her only means of transportation. She is behind on her car payments, and the dealership has notified her that the vehicle will be disabled on 07/17/25, unless a payment of $360 is made. Without this vehicle, she will be unable to commute to her new job or transport her children. Your support at this moment would not only prevent her from losing her car—it would ensure she can seize this opportunity for a fresh start.
