We are working alongside a single mother who is disabled and raising two younger children - a 7 month-old baby boy who has asthma and a 2-year-old toddler as well. They are currently living in a duplex that does not have heating or air conditioning. As summer temperatures are rising, the home becomes very hot and uncomfortable for the family and the little ones. The family has tried opening the windows and it does not help the situation.

The infant has asthma symptoms that are aggravated by the heat, and she has no alternative way to cool down her home. We've reached out to the family's medical insurance to see what support and services they could provide, and they could not provide any at this time. This mother is urgently in need of a portable air conditioner to help make a difference in keeping the kiddos cool. If you know of any programs within the Fort Scott, KS area that we could connect her to or if you could be so kind to donate even a tiny bit of financial assistance to help her get this, we would appreciate it. This need could also help with reunifying her child that is already in Foster Care.

DCF is working with a family of three children (3 years, 6 years, and 8 years), one with significant health issues (heat induced seizures, and other diagnoses') and 2 adults. The family is facing eviction at midnight (6/30/25). Family has reached out to other local agencies who stated they are out of funding. Family has gotten their waitlist letter for Hud and is applying for TBRA. The family would benefit from assistance in temp housing until they get funds on the 15th of July.

A single mom of 3 boys just got a new apartment and has absolutely no furniture other than a fridge. Anything available would be appreciated, pots and pans, couches or chairs, entertainment center, tv, dinner table and chairs, cups, plates, bowls, coffee table, microwave, stove, etc.

Mom DOES need a queen- or full-size bed due to the fact she doesn't have a bed; she's been borrowing a bed.

A single mother of 3 boys just started a new job and is in need of extra clothing/items for the job. She will be working 2 jobs now that she started this one. Her needs are as follows: Size 7 steel toe work boots. A sun hat. Gardening gloves. Size 34-30 jeans

A single mother of 8 children is in URGENT need of a washer and dryer. 7 of these children are 13 and under and often find themselves changing outfits multiple times a day. Mom has resorted to washing the clothes in the bathtub and drying them out on the line and crossing the state line to do laundry at her mother's; this comes with the challenge of loading all of the children into the car and taking them with or asking her 18-year-old son, who also works, to babysit the children.

I have a mom who just lost her boyfriend. She is struggling financially and trying to clean out the house. Her boyfriend would collect everything and store it in the house. The house is completely full of junk. Due to all the expenses, she is unable to clean out the house. She is needing a large dumpster to clean it out. She is also struggling to do laundry as she has no washer and dryer. She had asked us if we could help her by taking her to the laundry mat to do her laundry, but she does not have the money. If there is any way you could help this mom so that she can do laundry and get a dumpster so that she can clean out the house, we would greatly appreciate it.

Teen who has health issues and is overweight was brought in custody due to cleanliness of the home and parental health concerns. Teen has been placed into a kinship home and is now starting to learn how to take care of his health better. Teen is asking for a bike helmet, and safety gear to be able to ensure his safety while exercising by riding his bike. Any help would be appreciated.

Parents unemployed, but mother is actively seeking employment, struggling to provide pull-ups for youngest child with special needs who is not developmentally ready to potty train. Home recently foreclosed and the family is struggling to access housing services because they don't have a specific eviction date. Family has outstanding gas and water bills.

Hello, I am submitting a request for assistance to strengthen a bio family who is currently in trial reunification. Mom has worked really hard for the past year to correct and change her life and was able to start the reunification process with her children however she is a single mom and could use some help getting on her feet financially. She is currently working and has the opportunity to take a CNA class that would give her the training needed to promote at work and the financial increase would significantly help the family overall. The class is $550.00, but she is unable to pay for that currently. Any assistance towards her class is much appreciated.

A grandmother has 4 grandchildren living with her and is need of help with vehicle payment before it repossessed. She is behind on her electric and gas bill. She is waiting to hear back for food assistance. She loves her grandchildren and wants to be able to continue taking care of their needs.

Mother and Daughter recently moved into a place and the landlordis working with the mother on the deposit. The deposit is more than what Mom has right now. She is employed. This family does not have any furniture. A request for the daughter through DBLO's for a bed has been submitted. A request is not able to be submitted for the mother. Mom has made tough decisions to keep her and here daughter safe. Any assistance for this family is greatly appreciated by me and them as well.

Queen beds were given to the mother and daughter. They are still in need of the rental assistance, tables and chairs and furniture dressers and a couch.

A family of 5 has recently secured housing but have little furniture. The 3 children are in need of dressers to store their clothing.
