A Teller County family is in need of food assistance. This kinship family recently came together in hopes of providing a home for a child in need so the child would remain with familiar faces versus go into an unknown situation in foster care. The family is able to manage their finances normally, however, groceries are starting to become an urgent matter. This Kinship home said "YES" when others walked away from this child; stretching their already elastic budget to the brink of breaking. We are gently asking our community to come together to provide food in a way so that this family will not need to worry where the next meal will come from, how they will make a meal last, or who will have the biggest portion to fill a belly. Let's come together to support a family who said "yes". We are grateful for help in any amount, and are asking for Wal-Mart or Visa gift cards so the family can shop for their own grocery needs. A Teller County family could use a blessing! This family is comprised of a mother, father, a 4-year old girl, and a 2-year old girl. Both parents are employed, but still struggle with food insecurity. Unfortunately, as of earlier this year, they no longer meet the guidelines for economic assistance. While the Department has assisted with providing local resources and the parents are utilizing some food pantries, the need this month is simply too great. Therefore, the Department is respectfully asking if any Care Portal partners can help bridge the gap at this time with Wal-Mart gift cards so that they family can purchase much need supplies. A single dad needs help paying for his rent where his 7 year old daughter and him reside. Father was just reunited with his daughter after a year and soon after reunification he had to have an emergency medical surgery and his company let him go due to missing some work. He started a new job already but is falling short on rent and just needs some help to get back on his feet and be the father he has been working so hard to be, any help would be greatly appreciated.

A sweet seven-year-old girl in Teller County is in need of the community’s support and care. Despite all this precious child has been through, she’s a bright and joyful spirit who loves to draw, write, swim, play outside, and express herself through acting. She is now in a loving foster home where she’s beginning to feel safe and supported, and she enjoys sharing her creations with those around her. One small thing that could make a big difference in her healing journey is a noise machine (under $40) to help her sleep better at night. Sleep is essential for her emotional and physical well-being, and her foster family is doing everything they can to give her the stability she deserves. If you are able to help, your kindness and generosity would go a long way in supporting this little girl’s journey toward healing and happiness. A mother of a youth is in need of $1,150 in order to be able to pay for her rent for the month of June. Her son recently returned home with her, and she had to use the money that she had for food. She is currently facing eviction. If someone could support this request, it would positively impact her and her son.

DHS is working with a family who has a 4year old girl. This request is for the placement and supports the child. The family resides in Greeley, but the family time is held in Colorado Springs. The placement is asking for help paying for gas. Helping this family with gas will ensure the child continues to make it for in person family time with her parent every week.

A great grandmother of her one year old granddaughter is requesting assistance with getting a car seat/stroller combo. Granddaughter enjoys going on long walks with her grandmother, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated to ensure that they can continue to enjoy family time together. Grandmother is a fixed income and retired so she has limited availability for funds.

A great grandmother of her one year old granddaughter is requesting assistance with purchasing baby gates to ensure her valuable items do not get harmed since the baby is more mobile now. Great grandmother is retired and using all funds to care for the baby, so any additional assistance with helping provide these items would be greatly appreciated.

A Teller County family is in need of assistance. This family became a kinship placement for their infant nephew, while having an infant daughter of their own (in addition to other children of their own). While the family is enjoying caring for the two small babies and creating stability for their nephew, they are facing unique challenges raising this large brood of 7! Currently, the babies are rapidly growing at the same rate. The family is in dire need of a second crib due to the babies quickly growing out of their current sleeping arrangements. The Department is kindly asking for help purchasing new crib and accompanying crib mattress for this joyful family. Thank you so much for considering this request.

Hello friends! We were able to get the crib mattress fulfilled, but have not received a response from the person who responded to fulfill the crib frame. The frame is still very much needed! If someone could assist with this, there's a little baby who would be so grateful!
