Description of Need: A teenage boy in foster care, who has been out of his home for 6 years and 8 months, is seeking support from the community to help meet two specific personal goals: obtaining an adult-sized bicycle, safety equipment, and enrolling in beginner guitar lessons. Who Needs Help: This request is for one teenage male in foster care. What Do They Need: An adult-sized bicycle for local transportation and increased independence. A set of beginner guitar lessons (virtual or in-person) to help him learn to play and build confidence through music. Why This Matters: The youth has expressed a strong interest in music and a desire to be more independent in his daily life. The bicycle would allow him to safely get to school, appointments, and extracurricular activities. The guitar lessons would give him a creative outlet and provide a sense of accomplishment and joy during a pivotal time in his personal development. Impact of Meeting the Need: Meeting this need will help the youth build confidence, reduce isolation, and promote healthy outlets for emotional expression. It supports his healing journey and personal growth while showing him that his community values and believes in his future.

The current kinship placement is requesting help with obtaining a crib mattress for a 1 month old newborn baby that was placed in their care. Currently, the baby is sleeping in a bassinet, and the family would like help in obtaining a mattress for the crib.

A 12 years old boy only started attending school for the last 2 weeks of the 23-24 school year. He is going into 7th grade and cannot do basic math and cannot read fluently, though he has made progress in letter and sight word recognition with his tutor over the summer. It is essential that this child continue tutoring services for the month of July to get ready for school in August. He is making growth very quickly. Tutoring occurs two times a week for two hour sessions for the entire month of July, totaling a cost of $1100. We are requesting a check to cover these funds.

Family has left a situation that helps further DHS/court involvement. Family was not able to get belongings. Family needs diapers and wipes size 5 and the other wears size 3. The family needs clothing a boy size 10/12, Girl 10/12, a boy size 4t, a female 3t and another female 12months. If clothing can no be bought or donated, the family would like a gift card for $100 for diapers and wipes and $200-$300 for clothing for all 5 children. Family does not have access to their banking account and children are not able to get their clothing from their old home. ROIs are attached.

The biological mother of a child that has been placed in foster care has been evicted from her apartment. This mother is living in her van until something else is figured out. She has had difficulties getting approved for SNAP and is in need of some help with non-perishable items to keep in her van. I am requesting a $100 Wal-Mart gift card so that she can buy some food.

The mother is in need of assistance. The mother is working hard to try and support her 3 children (triplets) and keep her family together. The mother needs assistance with diapers and clothing items for the triplets. They just turned 6 months old. The children are size 2 diapers and 6 months and up in clothing. This request would assist the mother because the mother is challenged with being the only round the clock caregiver and has no other family in Colorado other than 5 year old son and husband. A gift card to a place where she can purchase these items would be great, or donation of these actual items. Thank you so much.

This is a family of two kinship caregivers and their three grandkids (4, 7, and 9). The grandparents also care for two other grandchildren outside of DHS care, so they have their hands full (and their hearts as well!). Finances are tights, and the kids are growing quickly. They could benefit from a Walmart gift card in any amount for clothing and groceries.

A single dad needs help paying for his rent where his 7 year old daughter and him reside. Father was just reunited with his daughter after a year and soon after reunification he had to have an emergency medical surgery and his company let him go due to missing some work. He started a new job already but is falling short on rent and just needs some help to get back on his feet and be the father he has been working so hard to be, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Male child age 5 Mom is in need of her phone bill paid. Helping meet this need will provide opportunities for Mom to engage in services and aid in reunification with her child. Mom was recently evicted from her home and is exploring sober living and is egger to engage in services. Having a phone will aid in the opportunity to progress in treatment services, attend family time, explore safe/stable housing and employment. The total price will cover June and July phone payments allowing Mom substantial time to make significant progress.

Helping meet this need will provide opportunities for Mom to engage in services and aid in reunification with her child. Mom was recently evicted from her home and is exploring sober living and is egger to engage in services.

CASA has a case with three children all in foster care after being removed from their parents due to homelessness, substance use, neglect and sexual abuse. They have been out of home for over six months and it is not looking like they will be returned any time soon, unfortunately. Two of the children really enjoy hanging out with the foster dad, who loves to go for bike rides, and would love to have their own bikes. CASA is asking for bikes for an 8-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl in the form of a Walmart gift card (so they can pick them out themselves). This can be purchased electronically and emailed or a physical gift card can be bought and CASA can connect with the community member to get it. Thank you for considering this request!
