The biological mother of a child that has been placed in foster care has been evicted from her apartment. This mother is living in her van until something else is figured out. She has had difficulties getting approved for SNAP and is in need of some help with non-perishable items to keep in her van. I am requesting a $100 Wal-Mart gift card so that she can buy some food.

DHS is working with a foster family who has a set of twins who are going to celebrate their 9th birthday. This caseworker wants to help these set of twins have a good birthday as this is their first time in foster care and they are having a really hard time adjusting. Purchasing this item would help the foster family bring the kids to appointments, parks, grocery stores etc.. The wagon will provide safety and comfort for the family and the kids.

This girl has been working on her behaviors and has been given permission to ask for a TV as she is doing better with her behaviors when she is angry. The provider and child are wanting help purchasing a 40inch TV for her room.

DHS is working with a father who is currently residing in Ellicott, CO and is visiting his 1 year old daughter in Colorado Springs twice. The Department is working with a family whose 7-month-old daughter is currently placed out of the home while they address the concerns which caused the case to open. The family is in need of assistance with the purchase of gas for visits, medical appointments, and treatment. They are struggling with this expense due to numerous medical appointments for their baby and case commitments for themselves. These parents are engaged in all aspects of their case, having frequent, extended visits with their baby, and are eager to move their case forward. Any assistance with this need so that parents can continue to work towards reunification is greatly appreciated!

The Department is working with a father whose 1-year-old is currently placed in foster care while he addresses the concerns that caused the case to open. He is currently in need of assistance with the purchase of a queen/full size bed frame and mattress. He is currently sleeping on a small loveseat in a shared living space. The primary company that employs him has switched contracts and laid everyone off, and in the process of processing employees out, checks have been delayed. As a result, he is struggling to afford this purchase. This father is getting engaged in all services, participating in visits, and highly motivated towards a reunification. A used bed is completely acceptable! Any assistance with this need so that this father can continue to focus on his case and bringing his daughter home is greatly appreciated!

Hello! We would like to request funds for tickets to Seven Falls for 3 URM (Unaccompanied Refugee Minor) youths. We have been working with these young men for the past few months, and they are all placed in the same foster home. The two youngest youth are new to the program and new to the state of Colorado. They have experienced many transitions in the past couple of months but are doing well and are registered to start high school this fall while continuing working through the summer. The oldest youth has been with the family for about 3 years and has helped the 2 younger youths with this transition into a new culture. Going to Seven Falls would provide these young men with a fun an interesting activity where they can safely get out into the community as they enjoy hiking and exercising together. This will also support their physical and mental health as they deal with these major life changes in their young lives, work through their past histories, and navigate everything else that is going on the world right now.
