A 16-year-old foster youth was recently placed with his paternal grandmother after years of not knowing each other. Despite the sudden placement, the two are working hard to build a relationship and create a sense of stability.

The grandmother, who is on a fixed income and currently receiving no financial assistance, is doing her best to support him. The youth arrived with only a few items of clothing, most of which no longer fit. He is in need of a new wardrobe and would greatly appreciate gift cards to Tillys, PacSun, or Zumiez. Even donated clothes in good condition would help. His sizes are: XL for undergarments, shirts, and shorts, and 38x32 for pants.

In addition, the youth needs a full-size bed frame, mattress, bedding, pillows, and a dresser, as the home was not prepared for his arrival. Since the grandmother does not have transportation, a bike and bike lock would also make a meaningful difference, helping him get to school and connect with his new community.

This young man has faced multiple placement disruptions, and providing some of these essentials could help him find the stability and comfort he needs in this new chapter of life. Any support—whether new or gently used—would be deeply appreciated. Thank you for considering this request.

A dedicated student who recently graduated this June from Riverside City College with her RN certification is a single mother who has shown remarkable commitment in managing her academic responsibilities, parenting, and limited work hours. Due to the intensity of the RN program, she is was working reduced hours, making it challenging to cover the costs associated with the licensure process. This assistance will greatly enhance her ability to independently support herself and her son. She is requesting support with her Application Fee: $300

A single mother is trying to reunify with her son and just started working in Riverside county. She originally lost her income when the child was removed, as she was receiving SSI for the child's special needs. Due to the child's complex needs the only foster home found was far from mother's current home address. She is also facing an eviction and financial struggles with taking food or clothing items for her child during her visits. She was able to purchase a very inexpensive used car from a friend with payments from her new job. She has already spent her first worked income on basic necessities and getting the car smogged and registered. The car now needs tires to be able to be driven safely. By assisting the mother with the purchase of the tires, it will allow her to maintain her new job, prevent her from being evicted, allo wher to continue completing her court orders and allow her to meet the foster parent half way for more visits with her son to help her reunify with him. This request is being made urgently for rental assistance and to prevent future eviction. It concerns a single mother whose newborn baby was injured by the child's father, who is currently incarcerated. The mother is working toward reunifying with her baby. Although she does not have employment at the moment, she has interviews lined up for evening work. She is also exploring with the department and 211 for any assistance they can provide. She is dedicated to her child and attends all of the baby's appointments, which means she will need to balance work with staying connected to her baby's care.

The mother needs $1,900 to cover her rent for July. Any assistance that can be provided would make a crucial difference in her situation. Being evicted or trying to find stable housing while working on the reunification process could complicate her case and hinder her ability to reunite with her child

Mother contacted the Management to see what options are available for her to work with them and not have eviction. Mother was informed that she has credit of $400 for over payment on another month. Mother needs $1,500 by the 3rd to avoid eviction. The management company is willing to work with her and give longer time to come up the full rent amount and work out a payment arrangement, but Mother must give a payment before or by the 3rd. Please consider donating, even if it is not the full amount this will help mother not be on the street.

Single father caring for two children who is struggling financially. Father was laid off from his evening job Friday 6/27 and is worried about losing his housing and car. FA is trying to get another job. One of the children has medical issues making public transportation detrimental to her health. Her exposure to the public should be limited. The family is at risk of losing their housing due to FA not being able to cover his bills. Father has been using money that would usually go to the rent to pay for the children's necessities. This one time assistance will help the father maintain his household financially.

Individual separated from his wife for two years and previously lived with his sister in small apartment during that time. He had the prospect of a job on June 1st & showed paperwork to landlord to certify this was so and was granted the one-bedroom apartment for himself & his 12-year-old daughter after a very long search. After orientation at the new job, he found out the job was cancelled. He began searching for another job immediately; found one--which he started today. He will receive his first paycheck on July 3rd, but it won't be enough to cover his rent, which is actually due July 1st (four days from this writing). His paycheck will ultimately cover his rent and other cost of living items, but for now, he's in a difficult situation. He is going to do his best to scrape together money from his side business of detailing cars, but time is limited to do that (there's only one free day before July 1st). I told him that we would try to help him, but there were no promises. I encouraged him to speak to his landlord, too, and find out if there's a grace period. I also prayed with him. Any amount of money would help toward him not losing the apartment he worked so hard to find.

To date (7/2) we have $700 donated. I spoke with the landlord, and they are giving him until 7/6 to come up with the remaining funds. He is a believer in Jesus, so I asked him to pray & I let him know that I will ask my circle of prayer warriors to pray for the unleashing of the last $1,000 to cover his rent. His first paycheck will be this Friday but will only be about $300. Next week's paycheck will be larger.

On 6/9/25, child (age 8) started her conditioning for her bone morrow transplant with radiation for 4 days straight and then the transplant was conducted on 6/14/25. Also, sibling, child, (age 4) bone morrow will be extracted for the transplant. Last month, Mother car was repossessed, and mother used the RENT money to get the car back and now the families rent is overdue, and the family received a three-day pay or quit notice. Mother is not working in order to be with child daily at the hospital. Gas is costly, while mother goes back and forth from the hospital to home during day and at night to be with her other 3 children. Mother is the only adult in the home and the only provider.

A victim of domestic violence and single mother of three children who completed a parenting, DV program, DV support group and individual counseling is achieving independence and about to have her DCFS closed by court next month as she has been able to keep her children safe. However, as she navigates the journey toward financial independence, she is also adjusting to the rising cost of living and having her children home for summer. Mother has been resourceful with applying for Cal Fresh and viisting local food pantries but is still running low on food this summer. This is a challenging time for her, and any assistance for the family would greatly be appreciated. Family is in need of a food gift card to Walmart or any other super market in the area to help feed the children fo rtherest of the summer.

We’re reaching out on behalf of a brave young mom who is currently navigating pregnancy while finishing high school. She’s expecting a baby girl and is in need of essential baby items to prepare for this life-changing moment.

As she enters her senior year, she’s determined to graduate but with so much uncertainty ahead, she’s feeling nervous about how she’ll manage school and motherhood at the same time. She is doing her best to stay strong and focused, but the reality is that preparing for a baby is overwhelming especially as a teen.

An aging out foster youth who has been in care for over 9 years idue to neglect and abuse from both a parent and a past caregiver is in need of household items as she moves out of foster care. She became pregnant as a teen and she and her fiance saved to be able to get their own apartment. Both work full time, and care for their baby together. Youth will starting an EKG program in the fall, and the fiancé is attending community college as well. Their income is limited and they spent their savings for the move and larger furniture, but are in need of a toaster, a comforter set, bathroom set, silverware set, cotton towels, and kitchen tool set. Youth does not have the financial support of any parents or family. This youth is a client of Regional Center living independently for the first time in his life. This youth has faced tremendous challenges, including the death of his mother a few years ago, and his father's paralysis. He has been in the system for many years, but he has finally managed to earn his high school diploma and obtain housing. He is currently searching for employment and working on removing barriers in his life to do so.

This youth needs support with basic household necessities, including toiletries, bath mats, and curtains.

A 17-year-old foster youth, a recent immigrant and primarily Spanish-speaking, has found comfort and joy in reading as she adjusts to a new country and language. Her favorite hobby is reading young adult fiction—especially in Spanish, which helps her feel connected to her roots while continuing to grow.

She is hoping to receive a Kindle and an Amazon gift card so she can access books in her native language and continue exploring stories that inspire and empower her.
