Description of Need: A teenage boy in foster care, who has been out of his home for 6 years and 8 months, is seeking support from the community to help meet two specific personal goals: obtaining an adult-sized bicycle, safety equipment, and enrolling in beginner guitar lessons. Who Needs Help: This request is for one teenage male in foster care. What Do They Need: An adult-sized bicycle for local transportation and increased independence. A set of beginner guitar lessons (virtual or in-person) to help him learn to play and build confidence through music. Why This Matters: The youth has expressed a strong interest in music and a desire to be more independent in his daily life. The bicycle would allow him to safely get to school, appointments, and extracurricular activities. The guitar lessons would give him a creative outlet and provide a sense of accomplishment and joy during a pivotal time in his personal development. Impact of Meeting the Need: Meeting this need will help the youth build confidence, reduce isolation, and promote healthy outlets for emotional expression. It supports his healing journey and personal growth while showing him that his community values and believes in his future.

The current kinship placement is requesting help with obtaining a crib mattress for a 1 month old newborn baby that was placed in their care. Currently, the baby is sleeping in a bassinet, and the family would like help in obtaining a mattress for the crib.

A provider that has taken in three grandchildren, who is on a low income has had a hard time keeping up with the demands of the growing children. The children are now getting older and the provider is in need of diapers, and walking chairs for the children as they are now starting to move. The provider is asking for a $200 gift card to help her purchase these items for the children. The provider is thankful for any help that is received.

The Department is working with a father whose 1-year-old is currently placed in foster care while he addresses the concerns that caused the case to open. He is currently in need of assistance with the purchase of size 3 Huggies diapers and baby wipes for family time. This father is getting engaged in all services, participating in visits, and highly motivated towards a reunification. Any assistance with this need so that this father can continue to focus on his case and bringing his daughter home is greatly appreciated!

The mother of the children (3 children) is currently asking for support to pay her rent for the month of July. The children are currently in the care of the Department and the mother is working towards her treatment plan. Hotel needed!
DHS is involved with this family due to DV between Mom and BF. Dad has stepped up to help his daughters (12,15) and meets with them on different occasions throughout the week. Dad is disabled and doing the best he can. We are asking for help with paying for a hotel, $500 is requested. The family had to leave behind and cannot access many items like extra clothing. The two children currently need shoes and other basic need items that the mother is not currently able to afford all at once. The family is grateful to any help.

The biological mother of a child that has been placed in foster care has been evicted from her apartment. This mother is living in her van until something else is figured out. She has had difficulties getting approved for SNAP and is in need of some help with non-perishable items to keep in her van. I am requesting a $100 Wal-Mart gift card so that she can buy some food.
