This family consists of an aunt who is caring for 4 children to keep them out of foster care. She has been heavily burdened with a vehicle that she purchased that has had continued maintenance problems and she is trapped in a car loan where she has owes more than the car is worth and paying very high amounts in interest. The costs of maintaining the vehicle and paying the loan payments are preventing her from being able to have the money she needs to cover her basic living expenses. We are asking for a vehicle donation or help purchasing a vehicle for this aunt so that she can sell her car and pay off a large portion of her car loan. We are also looking for wisdom or advice if anyone has experience with these circumstances.

This is a request to assist with rent payment. This family is close to being reunified. Please assist with the late rent payment of $875 so this family can retain a residence for a child to return. FCDSS will work with this family to ensure rent payments can be made for the future.

FCDSS is working with a single father who has struggled with addiction. As a result of his substance use, homelessness and other barriers his children were placed into foster care. He has struggled with his substance use. He has struggled with maintaining employment due to lack of transportation. The agency held a family partnership meeting to discuss barriers, needs and ways to meet and overcome these challenges. Since this father does not have valid license, the team suggested a bicycle or electric bicycle as a means of transportation, and he is willing to utilize anything to help him be mobile for his substance use treatment and employment. He has shown motivation and willingness to engage in services. FCDSS is asking if there are any churches that have a bicycle that is not being used that would be willing to be donated or even an electric bicycle.

I have posted regarding this family earlier this week, however we are still needing assistance with getting the family into a hotel for the next two weeks. This is to support and help the family be able to save more of their money for the children and more permanent housing as the father had previously been using his daily paychecks for hotel stays.

***I am currently working with a family who is experiencing homelessness. The family has four children total, and the mother is currently 6 months pregnant as well. The children are 4 years old, almost 3 years old, 1 year old, and 7 months old. The father is currently working daily as well as attempting to pick up as much over time as he can. We are currently working closely with the family regarding getting into an apartment, however this process may take a couple of weeks. The family is very thankful for any help they receive and would be willing to meet with anyone regarding assistance.

A single mother is suffering from postpartum depression and residing at the Rescue Mission. Her child is one month old, born June 6. The mother has no support as she grew up in foster care herself. This is her first child and the biological father is not involved. The Rescue Mission makes this new mother wake up and start chores by 445 am. The mother is suffering from lack of sleep as she has a newborn and is forced to leave the Mission every day by 9 am and not able to return until 3 pm. This forces the tired mother to take her infant often times to the library where she spends the entire day until she is able to return to the Mission. But even then, she is not allowed to access her bed until 7 pm. The mother does not use substances. Any support is helpful to this mother, but ideally would benefit most from a sponsor. Once the child is old enough, the mother would like to return back to work if she is able.

This family is pioneered by a single mother who recently moved into an apartment with her child. Currently, they have a lack of furniture to accommodate them. The mother has a limited income and has not been able to buy furniture. The family is in need of a couch, coffee table, and other miscellaneous furniture for the home. By fulfilling this request, the family will be able to feel more comfortable in their new home.

Single grandmother who is on fixed income has custody of her grandchildren. She recently requested assistance with AEP bill due to having to put extra funds towards several car repairs this month (two new tires, brakes, universal joint shaft). Her light bill is not in termination but due by the end of the week. Grandmother also has had her stove quit working due to something within the stove sparking and is unable to find the piece required to repair it. Asking for assistance with AEP and possible donation of stove. This grandmother has one child in her home who is under the age of 18 and one who just turned 18yrs old a couple weeks ago. Grandmother has been unable to use stove to cook any meals.

We have a family that is in need of some assistance for food. The family recently fell on hard times due to a custody issue and had some setbacks financially. They were able to get back on their feet and applied for SNAP benefits which will not be available for another couple of weeks. The family has utilized food banks and friends that they have in the area. They don't have any family in the area due to moving from another state and just needs a little extra help with food until their SNAP benefits arrive.

I have a family in need a size 4 diapers for their four children (any brand works, they currently use Parent's Choice). The family is also in need of a car seat for one of the children, specifically a 5-point harness for a toddler (possibly a convertible one if available). This family is requesting assistance in purchasing 3-4 cans of formula(Enfamil NeuroPro Enfacare-blue can) for their infant daughter. She was born premature and has recently started eating more formula. The family is a one income home, due to mom having to stay at home to care for the baby, who has medical needs. The family also consists of 3 other children the parents provide for financially. Formula for their infant would help to ensure her growth and wellbeing.

Single mother of 8 is currently needing help with underwear and socks for her children. Mother recently had a baby that has some medical issues and she is not working at the moment. Sizes are 16, 8 and 5 for the boys and girls size 6. She has minimal support system and could benefit from someone reaching out to her as well. She has also noticed a couple of roaches recently in her home and would like to get roach traps or spray.

Mother and father of 3 of their own children have taken in 4 additional children to avoid them coming into foster care due to substance use by the biological mother. The youngest child is on formula and this is a large expense. Trying to aid the sudden financial strain the family has now caring for 4 additional children. The biological mother could also benefit from a support system as well. Baby is currently on Enfamil in the purple can.
