Child is in foster care with GCDSS. His Grandfather has petitioned to be sole guardian of the child. This teenage boy will be transitioning to his grandfather's home around July 2nd, 2025.
This Grandfather has a small two-bedroom apartment with a bed and dresser ready for his grandson and is happy to have him come live with him. Although his grandfather has been able to secure a bed and dresser, he is not able to provide the necessities to go along with the bed. He is hoping for some help to make this teenage boy's room a place that he feels happy and comfortable in. There are some colors that this boy likes which are listed below. Mother has 3 children residing with her in her home. 1 child is in the custody of the mother while the other 2 are on a trial discharge home and remain in the custody of GCDSS. She struggles financially and isn't able to provide all the necessary items to make the home clean and organized. None of the children’s fathers are currently involved or in the home to help her with the children. Mom is living in a small studio apartment with the 3 children and is currently pregnant with another one. GCDSS CW is working with mom on organizing the space due to the limited amount she has. The items being requested can help mom with storage of items to create as much living space as possible.

A family consists of a grandmother is now raising her grandson due to the sudden death of her daughter. The family is struggling financially. The grandmother I struggling to provide clothing and bedding for her grandson. Assisting her with this will alleviate some of the stress she has been going through. The child has issues with incontinence. Child: Twin sheets, protective cover for the mattress, sweatpants- men's medium, shirts- men's large, boxers- large - no color preference noted, and adult pullups. Grandmother: Shirts- X-large, pants (stretchy)- X-large, llkes white and pink but grateful for anything. Also dark colored towels.

“Greene County Department of Social Services (GCDSS) has assisted a working family consisting of a mother, father, and daughter (12) with finding permanent housing. The family was in the homeless unit through GCDSS for several months before securing a home. They were diligent and motivated to find permanent housing and did so relatively quickly. The family of three moved into their 2-bedroom apartment about a month ago with the basic necessities but have asked for assistance with making the apartment more of a home. This family in need has been displaced. The mother is staying with family and needs an air mattress for all of her children, as well as bedding. She has wo children, one of which is on the spectrum and has higher needs. The child is distressed by the disruption of their routine. Having these items will improve their sleeping management and reintroduce routine for the children; further improving their sleep and lowering their stress over their housing disruption.
