We have a sister fostering her younger sister while raising 3 children of her own as a single mother. Sister works long hours to make ends meet and now that the kids are out of school, she needs some assistance with groceries as there are now more meals in the day to prepare. We have a very loving Single mom that has 2 children of her own and has taken in a child and she is really having a tough month. Resource parent is only needing help with clothing for child placed. A 17 year old aging out of custody in July could use assistance with transportation in order to get back and forth to work each day as well as to MetroTech to complete barber school in order to pursue a more gainful career path. This teenager has successfully graduated from high school and continues to work hard each day. 14-year-old foster child is placed in non-relative Kinship Placement. Family is urgently needing a gently used full size refrigerator (60 inches tall and 48 inches wide) as theirs went out this week and they cannot afford one themselves. Family struggles financially and is currently using a mini fridge in the meantime that does not have adequate space. Both foster family and agency would appreciate the help in securing this foster home a new refrigerator to maintain placement. Any help you can give will be appreciated!

We have a single grandmother fostering her 3 young grandbabies at this time. Grandmother was laid off from her job and due to the demands of the children and the services needed, Grandmother has been looking for a more flexible job that will allow her to assist the children. Grandmother is now working from home but is in need of assistance with her water bill as the gap in employment put her a little bit behind. We have a mom who is in need of transportation assistance to visit her child. This mom has been working very hard to see her daughter on a weekly basis. She works a full time job, participates in services and does not have a vehicle. This mom is working hard and rides the bus when she is able to, however, the bus does not stop close enough to her daughters placement. This causes her to have to walk a lengthy distance. Uber or Lyft financial support would help tremendously for this mom to be able to have more visitation with her daughter on a more consistent basis.

I am working with a 6-year-old boy living with his aunt who is needing some assistance to remain in daycare this summer. His daycare requires a summer fee of $290 which the DHS daycare subsidy does not cover. The family needs to maintain kiddo in daycare over the summer break and cannot afford this fee. Your help will ensure this child remains stable in his daycare program and in his kinship placement! Any help is greatly appreciated!

9-month-old child is placed in a non-relative kinship placement. Foster mother is the only financial support for the child other than receiving foster care payments. Foster mother and agency would appreciate help obtaining a dresser for the child as his clothing is currently stored in storage bins and the family's budget is slim. Foster mother is going to be adopting the child later in the year and is in the process of setting up a bedroom for him and is needing help with furnishing it. We are requesting a twin bed, a full bed, and a crib for a single mother and her two young sons who have just transitioned out of homelessness. After facing significant challenges, they are finally settling into stable housing, but they currently have no beds of their own, including her infant son who was born in February. Providing these items would make a huge difference in helping them create a safe, comfortable, and supportive home environment as they begin this new chapter in their lives. Thank you so so so much!

Here at The Spero Project, we have a family that has welcomed a new baby boy into their family. They now have two boys and five girls! With all the kiddos, this family needs a stroller. This little boy is only 2 months old right now, so he has a few more months before he will be sitting up. They have a Graco brand car seat that sometimes can fit into strollers. However, they are open to any brand that can lay down flat. This way, they can use it longer as he grows bigger and can sit up on his own. Thank you for taking the time to consider this request!

This is a request for small dining room set for a family in trial reunification. The children are ages 5,3, & 2 and they have been in trial reunification with their mother and grandfather for just over a month. The home is fully furnished, with the exception of a kitchen table. The family advised they are limited on resources right now (after recently moving into this house and furnishing all the rooms) that a kitchen table has been the last priority for them. We are looking for a basic new or gently used dining room met. The breakfast nook is not very large, so a small table (circular or rectangular) with 4 chairs will fit the space nicely. We appreciate you considering this request. We'd like the family to have a designated space where they can share meals. We are also looking for a gently used highchair for the 2-year-old. God Bless!

The family consists of a single mother and her son (12). The mother experienced one of the hardest 12 months of her life this last year. She was involved in a car accident that totaled her vehicle, which ultimately resulted in her losing her job, which resulted in her home going into foreclosure, and then family keeping her son while she experienced near homelessness and despair. Despite all of these hurdles, this mother did not give up! She fought every obstacle with creativity, diligence, optimism, and resourcefulness even in the face of the darkest days. She now has a vehicle, a job, and although she's residing in an extended stay hotel, she's "this close" to obtaining a place for her and her son. It has been an honor to walk along aside this mother and see her drive to fight all the hurdles and hardships she's faced. She never gave up! Her son is attending his last year at the YMCA Summer Camp Program and they have provided the family with a wonderful discount. Would you (or more than one of you?) consider giving to this need and helping her cover the costs of her son's last year with this program? Also, this provides this mother with peace of mind knowing he's engaged in an all day program rather than staying in the hotel.
