Urgent Request for Support – Non-Minor Dependent SB We are seeking immediate assistance for a young single mother whose case will close with DCFS on July 6, 2025, when she turns 21. A young mother of two children (ages 1 and 5) she is a resilient and devoted parent who has consistently prioritized her children’s needs, but she is currently facing a serious crisis. After a recent separation from the father of her youngest child, who is no longer providing meaningful financial support, she is now struggling to meet basic expenses. Despite these challenges, she recently completed her CNA certification and is actively applying for positions, though she has not yet secured employment. She can cover rent through the end of July but is at imminent risk of homelessness thereafter. She is at risk of having to vacate her apartment at the end of July and has no family support; her mother passed away five years ago, and she has no contact with her father. She will soon be navigating this situation entirely on her own.

I am requesting assistance for a 42 year old father who has 4 dependents, although they don't live together at the moment, they depend on him monetarily; 2 children ages 15 and 16. The father's 65 year old mother depends on him for her medications. The father's 19 year old son, who is having difficulty finding employment due to his disability - lost his right arm at the age of 14. The father lost his construction work tools in the California wildfires and is seeking assistance in replacing them, the cost is quite high, but he will be grateful for any assistance, he stated that he would just like to be able to get back to work, to be able to sustain his family. We are trying to assist the father to purchase much needed tools to be able to work and keep supporting his family.

This youth is a client of Regional Center living independently for the first time in his life. This youth has faced tremendous challenges, including the death of his mother a few years ago, and his father's paralysis. He has been in the system for many years, but he has finally managed to earn his high school diploma and obtain housing. He is currently searching for employment and working on removing barriers in his life to do so.

This youth needs support with basic household necessities, including toiletries, bath mats, and curtains.

The referred family is requesting assistance obtaining a dining table and baby stroller. The single mother of four children is the sole provider of for the family and needs a little help making the home as comfortable as possible for her children. She is seeking assistance with obtaining a stroller and dining table for the family. The family would appreciate any help and want to explore all the options to make their children as comfortable as possible at home.

First time single mother with minimal family support. She is in need of a car seat to safely transport her 18-month-old daughter. If possible, any additional essential baby items would be greatly appreciated as well.

This young lady recently graduated high school and is preparing to go into college in the fall. She currently lives with a single mother who is not actively involved in her life. The student has been able to maintain a 3.0 GPA during all her years in high school. She is actively involved in extra curricular activities and in her community. She would greatly benefit from this summer camp experience among her peers before she goes off to college.

I am reaching out on behalf of one of our Children’s Church students who is currently in foster care. Her mother has recently secured employment and is in the process of transitioning to a new home. While this is a positive step forward for their family, it has also placed a significant financial strain on them. Due to these circumstances, the family is unable to afford the registration fee for summer camp. However, we strongly believe that this child would greatly benefit from the experience—emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Camp would provide her with a safe, uplifting environment and a chance to grow in confidence and faith during a time of major life change. We are asking for help to cover the cost of her camp registration. Your support would make a meaningful difference in her life. Thank you for considering this request.

This young man is a junior in high school. The student lives between his parents house and grandparents house. His grandmother has been experiencing some health challenges since that end of last year and this has taken a noticeable on this young man. The added cost of medical expenses for grandmother has left nothing to go towards extra curricular activities. As a result the student has begun to sell snack items at school to help support himself. This young man would benefit greatly by attending summer camp and be encouraged in his pursuit of high school graduation. This opportunity would be a light at the end of a very dark for this young man and serve as a reminder that hard work pays off not just in the future but now.

This request is on behalf of a 17 year old high school student. This student is the oldest of 4 siblings and currently lives with their mother and father. The mother is not involved in the student's life and leaves the majority of the day to day responsibility to the father to care for and provide for the student and his younger siblings. Student does well in school and has been prioritizing his grades and school work. The student has expressed interest in going to summer camp but does not have the funds to attend. Attending summer camp would give the student much needed encouragement to continue to work hard towards his future goal of playing football at the college level.

I am submitting this request on behalf of a high school female with special needs. The family recently moved from out of state and was staying at a local shelter before being placed in permanent housing. The family consist of mother, father and 4 children. All the children have varying disabilities. Currently mother is the only income earner for the family. This young lady would greatly benefit from attending summer camp where she can participate in age appropriate activities with her peers and get specialized support from a camp counselor. This will also allow for the mother and father to have a reprieve while they attend to the needs of the other children.

I am submitting this request on behalf of a 17 year old high school male that is currently staying at a friends house due to being evicted out of his former home. This student is the oldest of 4 siblings. Mom is staying in temporary housing with his younger siblings and is sending what little finances she has where the student is staying. The student would greatly benefit from attending summer camp and would help to relieve some of the financial burden on mom. Student's father is not actively involved in his life and attending summer camp will give the student access to positive male role models as he continues to navigate his life. I am requesting funding to help a 14 year old girl attend summer camp. She currently lives with her mother and older brother who is experiencing job and housing insecurity. The older brother is in and out of the home as he deals with staying out of the gang life. Despite all that she is dealing with this young lady continues to maintain her grades in school and a positive outlook on her situation. Attending camp will give this young lady a much needed reprieve from the current home situation and give her the encouragement that she needs to continue building on personal resilience and independence.
