KINSHIP. Caregiver is taking care of her three grandchildren who were just placed in her home. Even though she employed due to the high cost of living she needs assistance with beds, mattress, dressers, and a sofa. She is trying her best to provide the children with the essentials and ensure they have a comfortable home. By aiding with these items, it will maintain the kin placement and assist the caregiver with focusing on other expenses. It will also allow the children to sleep comfortably and be in a thriving environment. The caregiver is currently employed, and she plans to maintain after this need is met, because she will have relief from the expenses above.

KINSHIP. The caregiver recently relocated to a larger apartment to meet the requirement to keep her granddaughter in her care. Previously, she lived with her mother in a one-bedroom apartment. She now resides in a two-bedroom apartment with her boyfriend, ensuring that the child has her own bedroom. After the move, her boyfriend sustained an injury at work and was forced to stop working. He initially received monthly compensation, but these have since ceased. The caregiver works part-time, which has created a financial strain. Given the circumstances, she is seeking assistance to obtain a twin bed, mattress and a dresser for her three-year-old granddaughter. This support would improve their living situation and help maintain a stable, comfortable environment for the child. This support will prevent removal ensuring that the child is provided with a fully furnished bedroom, thereby ensuring both privacy and safety. Providing a designated, well-equipped personal space is essential to the child’s well-being and is a critical factor in meeting the requirements for maintaining the child’s placement. The caregiver is currently employed part-time and receives a monthly payment for the child under her care. Her boyfriend is actively seeking employment and hopes to secure a position soon. KINSHIP. The caregiver is in need of rental support as she has fallen behind on 3 months of rent. This financial hardship began after she lost her job in 11/2024. In an effort to meet her monthly rent, she attempted to work for Eats and Uber Transportation, but it was not enough to sustain her household. She eventually exhausted her savings to cover essential expenses, which significantly impacted her financial stability. The situation worsened when the caregiver became ill and was unable to return to work, while also coping with the loss of her husband’s job. She has now returned to work but is still trying to recover financially and catch up on the missed payments. Her rent is $1,950.00, with a total of $5,850.00 owed for the 3 months. A Community Based Organization has covered a portion of this balance, but she still needs assistance to cover the remaining. She has an agreement with her landlord to make a full payment for the current month, and going forward, she will make payments of $500 on the 15th of each month to lower her balance. With this support, she will be able to catch up on her rent and provide a safe and stable home for the children. This assistance will offer the children peace of mind and a sense of security, knowing they have a stable place to call home. The caregiver does not receive any financial assistance and relies on her earnings to support the household. Once this need is met, she will be able to resume making her monthly rent payments on time.

KINSHIP. A caregiver currently undergoing the Resource Family Approval (RFA) process needs assistance with purchasing items for the children she plans to care for. Before the children can be placed in her home, she needs a crib, a dresser, and two twin mattresses. The caregiver already has two children of her own and is preparing to take in four additional children. Currently, she is not receiving any financial support for the children. Assistance with securing these items would significantly ease her financial burden and allow her to allocate her limited resources toward other essential needs for the children. This will ensure a safe and stable home for the children. Currently, the kin caregiver receives financial support from the government. She is currently receiving cash aid and Cal Fresh. The caregiver is committed to providing both financial and emotional support for the children by utilizing available community resources and continuing to receive assistance through cash aid. As this is her first time serving as a caregiver—especially to four children—she simply needs a helping hand to get started. Once she obtains the necessary items, she will be able to redirect her limited resources toward other essential needs, including food and clothing for the children.

6-year old child needs a new bed. The relative caregivers recently bought him a new twin size bed due to him outgrowing his old bed. However, the young child broke his bed with his behavior issues. The caregivers are unable to afford a new bed at this time due to having to pay for additional expenses for his care. In order to maintain and support the placement, the home needs to remain in compliance. This would help the child stay with relative caregivers to maintain family ties and remain safe in placement.

We have a single mother of three boys (ages 4, 3, and 1). The mother is putting her life back together after being involved with domestic violence. The mother and her children are currently staying with the relative, but the mother is in the process of attempting to secure houses for her and her children. At this time, the mother needs assistance with $30.00 application fee. Assisting with the costs of the rental application will help the family move closer to securing housing.

First time single mother with minimal family support. She is in need of a car seat to safely transport her 18-month-old daughter. If possible, any additional essential baby items would be greatly appreciated as well.

Cleveland County Child Welfare is reaching out for your support. Our staff is currently providing around-the-clock care for several youth who require a high level of supervision and are unable to leave our office setting. This care has been ongoing for the past month, with staff remaining in the office day and night to ensure the safety and well-being of these children. Currently we have two youth in the office now planning night sleeping at the office with minimum of 1 to 2 workers included at all times.

We are in need of assistance with snacks, easy-to-prepare meals, and drinks to help sustain both our youth and dedicated staff. Our office is equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and Keurig, which allows for limited food preparation. We would be incredibly grateful for a variety of items, including both healthy and fun options, to help keep everyone nourished and comforted during this time. The items they have suggested but not limited to: chips, ramen, apple sauce pouches, lunch meat, cutie oranges, corndogs, White Castle burgers, juices, powerade, bottled water, crystal light packets etc.

Any support your church can provide—whether through food donations, drinks, or meal deliveries—would be deeply appreciated by both our youth and staff.

The family consists of 3 minors (ages 13, 11, and 7). They are currently detained from parents and in reunification with their mother. They were living with an adult sibling in the family home. Unfortunately, the adult sibling was in tragic car accident and has been hospitalized since May 2025. He is expected to live but is currently unable to talk and in need of lengthy recovery.

A maternal aunt and maternal grandmother have stepped in to live in the house with the kids to ensure they can remain in the home and be with family. The maternal aunt and grandmother have been trying to make ends meet but are behind on the rent for the apartment and are having a difficult time obtaining enough money for basic necessities such as groceries and gas. The family unit is strong but struggling, and the Department has not been able to yet find any additional funding for the family. Our office has been trying to ensure they can remain in the home, but the family would really benefit from any additional funding assistance that can be provided. Thank you.

This family came to the attention of DCFS due to caretaker incapacity/absence. Mother left 6 year old and 2 year old with maternal grandmother and without any provisions. Grandmother is willing to be caretaker for children in mother's absence. We are requesting assistance with providing a full size mattress, comforter set and a Smart & Final gift card for groceries as grandmother's resources are limited and she was not prepared for this sudden change in lifestyle.

A family needs help getting new items for their apartment they just recently got approved for. They had some items in their storage unit but there was a leak and a lot of their furniture was ruined. They need help with a twin bed, two dressers, a dining room table with 8 chairs, an entertainment center, and things for storage. The family is open to donations of any kind. If this need is met they will be one step closer to reunification with their children. The water damage was a set back they were not expecting.

A family needs help with getting diapers/pull ups, wipes, and clothing for their children. The kids are currently staying with a kin placement. There are 6 total children in the house that they are caring for. The youngest is 6 (boy) months old and the oldest is 9 (girl) years old with a three (girl) year old and one (boy) year old in the middle. They need 3t/4t pull ups and size 3 diapers with wipes. The children do not have any sensitivities but parents choice (Walmart brand) is preferred. The parents are trying to support the children as much as they can while working on reunification, and supporting themselves while they are out the home. The 6 month old wears size 9 months and up in clothing, the 1 year old wears 2t/3t, the 3 year old wears 4t clothes, and the 9 year old wears size 9/10. The family is working hard to maintain their sobriety, complete their treatment, visit their children, and are moving into a new apartment. Any help is greatly appreciated.
