Help Preserve a Kinship Placement

A family friend took in three children, a 3 year old boy, 5 year old boy, and 15 yr old girl in June. Due to being a single income earner, she needs to pay for a week of childcare while she waits for a daycare to be ready to take the children. She does not have a means to pay for it on her own. A visa gift card in the amount of $400 will cover the required cost and ensure she does not miss work. This would be a huge blessing to her if the need is met! Thank you so much for your consideration!

Help Make a Kinship Placement

A Teller County family is in need of food assistance. This kinship family recently came together in hopes of providing a home for a child in need so the child would remain with familiar faces versus go into an unknown situation in foster care. The family is able to manage their finances normally, however, groceries are starting to become an urgent matter. This Kinship home said "YES" when others walked away from this child; stretching their already elastic budget to the brink of breaking. We are gently asking our community to come together to provide food in a way so that this family will not need to worry where the next meal will come from, how they will make a meal last, or who will have the biggest portion to fill a belly. Let's come together to support a family who said "yes". We are grateful for help in any amount, and are asking for Wal-Mart or Visa gift cards so the family can shop for their own grocery needs. Note: this family has also been provided community resources such as food pantries. Thank you, friends!

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing

A Teller County family could use a blessing! This family is comprised of a mother, father, a 4-year old girl, and a 2-year old girl. Both parents are employed, but still struggle with food insecurity. Unfortunately, as of earlier this year, they no longer meet the guidelines for economic assistance. While the Department has assisted with providing local resources and the parents are utilizing some food pantries, the need this month is simply too great. Therefore, the Department is respectfully asking if any Care Portal partners can help bridge the gap at this time with Wal-Mart gift cards so that they family can purchase much need supplies. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and consider this ask.

Help Preserve a Kinship Placement

This is a family of two kinship caregivers and their three grandkids (4, 7, and 9). The grandparents also care for two other grandchildren outside of DHS care, so they have their hands full (and their hearts as well!). Finances are tights, and the kids are growing quickly. They could benefit from a Walmart gift card in any amount for clothing and groceries.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing

A mother of a youth is in need of $1,150 in order to be able to pay for her rent for the month of June. Her son recently returned home with her, and she had to use the money that she had for food. She is currently facing eviction. If someone could support this request, it would positively impact her and her son.

Help Make a Kinship Placement

A Teller County family is in need of assistance. This family became a kinship placement for their infant nephew, while having an infant daughter of their own (in addition to other children of their own). While the family is enjoying caring for the two small babies and creating stability for their nephew, they are facing unique challenges raising this large brood of 7! Currently, the babies are rapidly growing at the same rate. The family is in dire need of a second crib due to the babies quickly growing out of their current sleeping arrangements. The Department is kindly asking for help purchasing new crib and accompanying crib mattress for this joyful family. Thank you so much for considering this request.

Hello friends! We were able to get the crib mattress fulfilled, but have not received a response from the person who responded to fulfill the crib frame. The frame is still very much needed! If someone could assist with this, there's a little baby who would be so grateful!

Help Make a Foster Care Placement

A sweet one-year-old girl in Teller County is in urgent need of support and care. After a recent move from out of state, she now finds herself in foster care here in Colorado with no family nearby. Both of her parents are currently incarcerated, and this little one is facing the world without the comfort and stability every child deserves. While her foster family is doing everything they can to provide for her, they are in need of support to meet her growing needs to include clothing, diapers, toys, and other essentials that help create a loving and secure environment. We are reaching out to our compassionate community to ask for help. Any donation will go directly toward caring for this precious girl and giving her a safe start. Every act of kindness, no matter the size, will make a real difference in her life. Thank you so much for opening your heart and considering a contribution. Your generosity will help bring comfort and hope to a child who truly needs it. Thank you so much for considering this request.

A Walmart or Visa gift card or cash would permit foster parents to purchase needed items that best fit her sizing and developmental needs.

Help Make a Kinship Placement

Two young boys, four and two years old, from Teller County are in need of a helping hand. Recently removed from their father’s care, they are now living with their loving grandparents. Their grandparents have stepped up in a big way, doing everything they can to provide a safe, nurturing home where the boys can heal and thrive. Despite the challenges, they are doing their very best to meet the boys’ needs and give them the stability every child deserves. Right now, one of their biggest needs is something many of us take for granted: a proper bed to sleep in. The family is looking to purchase comforter sets, an expenditure that is difficult to manage on top of daily expenses. We’re reaching out to our community to ask for support to help create a safe, comfortable space for these children to rest and grow. Your generosity will help give these boys not just a place to sleep, but a sense of security and care during a very uncertain time in their lives. Thank you for opening your heart and considering a donation. Your kindness means more than words can express. This request is for $130 in the form of cash or visa gift card for the purchase of pillows and comforter sets. Thank you so much for considering this request.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing

Requesting multi-layered support for family, ongoing financial hardships and food insecurity. Single father of a 7th grade girl that gets minimal child support/assistance from her mother. He is currently employed as a ride share driver but has inconsistent work hours which directly impact the household income. Due to the varying work hours childcare/after school care is not easily accessible when school is not in session. The family was recently informed that they are no longer eligible for Medicaid or food stamps (the EBT program). The family often struggles, running low or out of essentials in between paychecks, with little extended family to assist when struggling. When speaking with the father, he is preparing for a possible move in August because of projected income struggles versus affordable rent.
