Hat Creek Camp

Family consists of a mother and her 3 sons, ages 12, 10, and 6. Mother recently became homeless at the end of May. She sent her children to stay with relatives for the summer while she searched for housing. The Department was able to help secure housing for her with a move-in date of July 16. The children will return to the mother at the end of July. The mother is requesting assistance in purchasing 2 twin mattresses for her two youngest sons' bunk beds and a full mattress for her oldest son. Mother is not financially capable of purchasing these items, as she receives little support from the children's fathers. The Department has committed to buying the full mattress, so the 2 twin mattresses are what we need. Please consider blessing this family to help promote the children's safety and well-being.

Family is in need of a twin-size mattress and bed frame, and a rubber urine mattress protector if possible.

Family reported the child may have destructive tendencies and either intentionally or perhaps in an agitated stated damaged his last bed frame and soiled his last mattress. Father is unemployed currently.

This family is requesting assistance in purchasing 3-4 cans of formula(Enfamil NeuroPro Enfacare-blue can) for their infant daughter. She was born premature and has recently started eating more formula. The family is a one income home, due to mom having to stay at home to care for the baby, who has medical needs. The family also consists of 3 other children the parents provide for financially. Formula for their infant would help to ensure her growth and wellbeing.

An undernourished, failure to thrive, six-month-old male child entered foster care after being removed from his home for severe physical neglect. The child is six months old and only weighed 6.1 pounds. The child was hospitalized for 10 days to gain weight and to gather strength before being placed in an agency approved foster home.

The child is gaining weight now but the foster parent needs a stroller to help get him to appointments without having to carry the large car seat.

A teen mother, age 16 years old, is in need of baby formula for her 2-month-old daughter. The mother has recently been experiencing issues with her WIC benefits and has run out of baby formula. The family lacks sufficient financial resources as well as a strong support system to assist. The mother appreciates any assistance offered by her community in providing baby formula to get through the holiday weekend.

A young single mother, age 20 years old, is in need of baby formula for her 3-month-old daughter. Young pregnant Mom has experienced trauma with her last childbirth experience and would like to have a birth doula for support delivering this next baby. Income is poor because husband is between jobs and she stays home to care for her disabled mother She has managed to save some money for birth support but is shy $150 and is asking for monetary donation to help with this medical bill. She also is in need of maternity clothing 2x tops and bottoms (used donation is perfect)

This case was brought to the department following concerns of unsanitary living conditions at the fathers home. The children are now living with their mother in the City of Charlottesville, however, the families goal is to have the fathers home cleaned up so the oldest child can return home with her father. The family is in need of financial assistance, as they have been having issues with their cars and need extra money for repairs. To help offset the cost of those repairs, we are requesting clothing for 2 of the children, which would be helpful as they need new clothes for the summer and before school begins. The oldest is 16 and wears women's size 14-16. The other child is 10 and wears a youth size 12-14.

A mom is in need of assistance with fixing her car. While driving, her hood flew up and smashed her windshield. She is in need of a hood replacement and windshield replacement. She is a single mom of a teenager who just recently started working. The car is essential for this family as mom drives the child to work and the mother has significant health concerns and needs the car to get to her appointments. She is on disability so she does not have much income to work with.  Mom has advised me that she could get a new to her hood and windshield from the junk yard for around $520. The car is an older model Honda Accord

The agency is working with a mother of a two-year old currently receiving occupational therapy services. Child has been diagnosed with Erb’s Palsy, specific developmental disorder of motor functions, other disorder of psychological development, and feeding difficulties. Based on the child’s clinical evaluation and ongoing treatment plan, the doctor is recommending the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair with optional seat insert. This item is deemed as medically necessary adaptive equipment to support the child’s safety, functional development and therapeutic progress.

Seeking a crib for a 4 month old baby girl. Mom is a single mom who just got her own place. Mom works full time to pay the bills but does not have the funds for a crib at this time. 

Single mother of 4 is in need of a couch or couch and loveseat for her living room. The father of her children is deceased and she has minimal supports. She could greatly benefit from someone to talk to and connect with.
